Preseason Games 6/7 Thread: March 10 vs. Mariners (12n), White Sox (6p)

Split squad, people! Nathan Eovaldi goes up against Hisashi Iwakuma and the Mariners in the noon game, and then Chad Billingsley takes the mound against Philip "Humb and" Humber in the evening game with the Pale Hose. We so own the ChiSox--our Cactus League D-League team--that I know we'll come away with at least one win today, and possibly two.

There were a bunch of articles on the web about how X-Men Blue was far superior to X-Men Gold (better team, more popular characters, etc). I had never thought it through that far...

Wonder which Dodgers squad today is the Blue team?

I was gonna go with Jamie Madrox, but this works.

Remember when having two X-teams was a novelty?

It took me a minute to get it, but when I did, I appreciated it.

Seattle feed is on At Bat. Ethier out with a sore back.

Belli should start reading Albuquerque apartment listings. I suggest getting a two-bedroom he can share with Tronny

Hey, we didn't lose.

5-5 in the first....game of the day. Couldn't follow it. But I'm liking these so-called runs.

Chad in trouble in the third. Pulled for Lindblom.

No broadcast anywhere. Boooooo.

Hideo Nomo said...

Oops. Lindblom gives up a three run HR.

Hideo Nomo said...

It's because Sax talked smack about the Sox.

Fred's Brim said...

yuck, Chad can't make it through 3

Fred's Brim said...

wow, three runs in fourth to tie it at 4. A Sox error help get us the 4th run

Dusty Baker said...

It appears Chad made Florida 2000 seem like child's play.

Steve Sax said...

Did I say two wins? At this point I might be happy with two ties.

Dodgers down 5-4 in the nightcap.

Fred's Brim said...

And Hairston ties it up with a homer to left

I don't think Hairston is any good but I wouldn't mind him on our bench

Offense?

Steve Sax said...

Tied at 5 in the sixth!

Steve Sax said...

This game has no broadcast? Only GameDay?

Booooooooo

Fred's Brim said...

I am only getting Gameday Classic, to boot

Nice to see Kenley in the game. I guess his heart flutters weren't serious

Hideo Nomo said...

Kenley makes my heart flutter.

Dodgers give up a run in the 8th, 6-5 Socks. An undefeated Saturday is in jeopardy

Fred's Brim said...

Undefeated Saturday in less jeopardy, wild pitch scores Ivan De Jesus

Fred's Brim said...

And a grand slam from Cory Sullivan! 10-6 good guys!

Hideo Nomo said...

Me likey.

Steve Sax said...

Five-run ninth, and it's still going!

Sweet DeJesus!

Hideo Nomo said...

At Bat stopped updating after the DeJesus walked (on DeWater).

Fred's Brim said...

No interwebs connection at the ballpark, so here's my drunken wrap-up:

Lindblom had that fool 0-2 before giving up the 3 run bomb.

Skinny swag is really really fast. He beat out a grounder to SS, then stole second.

Rivera went deep, then flowed that up by bouncing back to the pitcher.

Nookie went down on three straight pitches, all looking. That was weak.

Beer consumption: 2 blue moons, 2 Sierra nevadas, 1 fat tire.

Peace out brothas

Dusty Baker said...

Good stuff, DBT. What's the pricing on those beers you consumed?

Dusty Baker's Toothpick said...

@dusty beers are $6.75 20 oz. not too shabby, cheaper than those hipster downtown LA bars.
