I voted for the hair

I did, as well.

I think EK will have better numbers when all is said and done (though maybe not when compared to the hitters of his day)

I'll always group Karros in with the run of 5 straight ROY, which makes him stand out in my mind.

Playing at the same time as Mark Grace didn't help EK. Being a former Bruin did.

Loney won't have the power numbers, but might beat him in steals.

James Loney. PLEASE develop 20-HR power James!!

EK blazed the trail for slow-footed Dodger 1B's stealing an unusual amount of bases. He stole 15 bases in 1997. Then again, Loney (24 SB) is well past 1/3 the way of Karros' career mark of 59 SB.

Karros hovered at around league average in OPS+ through his age 26 season before having a career year at age 27 with an OPS+ of 145. Loney has always been above average in OPS+ (if only slightly above average in 2008 and 2009).

If Loney can consistently develop 20-HR power, I'd say he'll have a better career than Karros. Otherwise I think they're not far away (when compared to their eras).

Karros will always have better, if not freakier, hair.

Loney seems to be running away with the voting.

I take the ROY stuff with a grain of salt remembering that Todd Hollandsworth also won the award during that stretch.

On a mostly subjective note, I feel like Loney is reasonably clutch, while from what I remember, Karros never really was.

I'd be happy with 40% of the vote. So close. Perhaps it's time to start buying votes from the SoSG interns...
