Dodger Stadium Ticket Prices: A Somewhat More Complete Retrospective

So I found some old Dodger schedules lying around and thought I'd take a look at recent ticket price increases (note: Frank McCourt purchased the Dodgers in 2004).

UPDATE:

Thanks to my new favorite SoSG reader Natalie for contributing scans for 2004, 2005 and 2007. We're collecting them all!

UPDATE:

Hoarders unite! I dug deep and found pocket schedules for 1992, 1994, 1996 and 1997.

1992

1994

1996 (no change!)

1997

2000

2001 (no change!)

2002

2003

2004

2005

While the Dodgers have wisely decided not to raise ticket prices this year, don't expect the same courtesy in 2010. Hey, someone's got to pay for Manny and Camelback Ranch.

Got info that will fill in missing years? Send it in!

It is amazing how confusing the ticket price-list-turned-matrix has become. Though thankfully, we haven't sunk down the rabbit hole of "dynamic ticket pricing", as the San Francisco Giants are trying to pull off this year to squeeze every last quarter out of its title-less fan base.

Wow, that's disturbing. Make a chart where the %increase is graphed against the rise of gas prices, and both in relation to the rise of my income (4-6% per year). Haha, get on it! It's also strange that as the prices go up, so does the drunken behavior of the fans. Instead of pricing out low-lifes, I guess they're just pricing out the families. Wonderful. Going to Camelback next week, I hope they have fights in the stands so I feel like I'm at home.

That was too negative. I'm actually the guy instigating all the fights. Go Dodgers! Odelay!

Interesting how socially stratified Dodger Stadium became.....in only eight years it went from having 6 classes of tickets to 17. I've sat virtually everywhere in Dodger Stadium and for the life of me I can't see why anyone would pay $8 more for "Infield Reserve."

Wow, that's pretty eye opening.

Less than a decade ago, $17 got you a Field Box seat, and today, even adjusting for inflation, it won't even get you Infield Reserve.

Orel, do you have the price of beer at Dodger Stadium over time, as well? I expect to see a similar jump with the advent of the McCourt era.

Yea! Glad I could help. And look... my first comment, too. The rise in prices for Field Level tickets is the most amazing to me. Now, I'm wondering why my family never sat closer than Top Deck or Pavillion. I'm sure my parents could have afforded for us to get a little closer to the action back in the day.

Hey, it's Natalie! Thanks again for the big assist. And welcome (officially) to SoSG!

Note the Top Deck has "only" risen from $6 in 1992 to $11 this year. The cheap ticket has always been a bragging point for the organization (never mind that parking is $15 now).

Note that in the 1990s, fans were coaxed to "Join the Action!"--but by 1997, that action was gone.

Pocket schedules from 1992?? Where on earth did you find those? If you happened upon the dead sea scrolls, please scan and post those as well.

Welcome to the world of SoSG commenting Natalie. Say goodbye to your former life.

Natalie, you're a hardcore fan. Do you have plans to visit Camelback Ranch?

Not this spring, but hopefully next year.
