Good morning puzzlers! As always thanks for participating, and thanks to SoSG Sax for stepping in with his intergalactic brain teaser. I just hope Joe Torre doesn't read it and get any ideas for lineup strategies...
So on to the results: Newcomer steve (unrelated to SoSG Sax) gets 1st place for nailing it first, followed by yours truly, fanerman, loney fan, and jose. Several got participation points as well.
Below are the new PCS Rankings (to see how they're calculated, click here). Quad still has a commanding lead, although a rare off-day by both him and Orel has allowed some of the field to inch a bit closer, most notably loney fan. Jose is also quickly shooting up the rankings, and steve debuts impressively in 5th place. And remember, PCS Tour Points are based on only the 7 most recent puzzles, so pretty soon points earned from the earlier puzzles will start to fall off the back end.
And finally, you may notice a new entrant named 'Sax/Karros' tied for 6th. Yes, that is the combined brainpower of SoSG Sax and SoSG Karros. Since we obviously can't answer our own puzzles, we each play the role of puzzle solver for the other's puzzles, and accrue points in the same Sax/Karros bucket. We're coming after you, Quad!

Next puzzle, July 24!

Thanks EK.
That picture is scaring the hell out of me. Quick, someone post something else! Or put tonight's GameThread up early!
Steve, look on the thread we might reach to 400 posts, i'm asking opinions about my new avatar for the next Dodgers winning streak...
Hey Karina - who is that showing the hardware? It isn't you, is it? Have things with beer/XBOX/pizza guy progressed that quickly?
Hahahahahahahaha, Eric. I'm not planning to leave my wonderful singlehood in a very long time. Explanation on the thread.
Ahhhh! Next puzzle July 24, the first day of my vacation. I'll have to find some way to preoccupy the wife so I can take a crack at it.
Great puzzle Sax! Especially for your first time. I'm very happy you were able to stump quadsevens. I do have one questions about the newly formed SoSG team; who is to stop collusion from occuring.
Loney Fan - wait, I thought you took vacation specifically so you'd have time to solve the puzzle? I think the answer is have your wife get her own username and take a crack at it as well. And just FYI so you can pack for your vacation appropriately - the next puzzle you might need scissors. I kid you not.
And take our word for it, there's no collusion. I merely email Sax the solution a few hours before posting the puzzle. If you want to call that "collusion", then yeah, I guess anything could be collusion.
I will have to clear my mind of this puzzle this weekend in order to prepare for June 24th. I think a pitcher of Newcastle should do the trick.
To share of course, this puzzle won't be sending me into rehab. It didn't get int my head THAT much.
Hahahaha... scissors?! Maybe I should just forget about it.
I guess my mind is already shutting down for the weekend. I meant to say I'm preparing for JULY 24th, not June.
I'm actually excited we got to need scissors to solve next puzzle.
Who is this quadsevens person? Some sort of wizard or mathematician or something? Second-place Orel is clearly able to cheat, but quadsevens has something else going on.
Cigarcow, thank you for noting I am able to cheat, but not accusing me of doing so.
Not a wizard, just the Puzzle Yoda. =)
Orel, I think cigarcow is in fact accusing you of cheating. Here's my interpretation of his comment:
He notices that you and Quad have separated yourselves from the field. In your case, he simply attributes it to your ability to cheat. In Quad's case, he is at a loss for an explanation. Is he a wizard? A mathematician? A something?
By the way Quad, nice photo.
And again, if you define 'cheating' as being given the solution before the puzzle is posted so you can be the first to answer correctly, and then on top of that being awarded twice as many points as you deserved, then yeah, I guess orel was 'cheating'.
