- Steve Garvey, Orel Hershiser form group (ESPN.com)
As much as I love the idea of getting former Dodger heroes back in the fold, the McCourt years have taught us to worry about one thing: Do they have the money? Garvey admits he has no formal relationship with billionaire Ron Burkle, so as appealing as this potential ownership group is, I'm reserving judgment until a group that can promise long-term financial stability emerges. And if it's the one with Garvey and Hershiser, so much the better.

Do any other teams have ownership made up of former players?
The Rangers come to mind...
Not baseball, but the Pittsburgh Penguins are owned by Mario Lemieux and Ron Burkle. So Burkle has experience with this type of thing.
I hear Pedro Guerrero has a lot of cash he needs to dispose of very quickly.
In other news Jay Gibbons is getting released.
*cries*
Great run Jay.
@Paul - where'd you hear about Gibbons? Can't find anything online.
Jay's family. Dodgers announced lineup with Sands in it just right now.
@ Paul
