Being Part of the Game (or Shake, Rattle, and Roll)

About five minutes ago, the family DeShields was trying to get the smallest DeShields back to sleep via baseball (he's addicted... what can I say.) Then suddenly, this happened...

And about thirty seconds later, we felt a quake in Burbank too. I handled it with my usual panache by running into the street with a shotgun pointed to the heavens, screaming "THEY'RE COMING! THEY'RE COMING"

Speaking of baseball earthquakes, I remember this famous one which prompted a young man with my name to uttter "I'm never living in California."

Who knew?

fun stuff! Of course the Padres crowd (all 1,400 of them) cheers.

I've missed all of the earthquakes I could have experienced. I slept through one and was on the school bus for another

Matt Williams, who moves over from third base to shortstop with Jose Uribe on the bench, can go to hell too
