P&A Issue #22: Victory!

Congratulations to SoSG readers ubragg, golem, drewdez (and fanerman, who commented but didn't contribute) on successfully and collaboratively solving P&A Magazine issue #22! I got the email from the editor this morning, our submitted answer was correct!

I've taken down the open thread we used to solve for now; I think I'm convinced now (as ubragg had politely suggested all along) that we should solve in private. Ubragg, drewdez, golem, and fanerman: please make sure I've got your emails and I'll figure out how to send you our work.

Nice job, guys...more news to follow!

Well done, folks!

Congratulations!

I liked the open thread. If you're concerned not to give away your process to possible competitors - especially after your first success becomes known - I guess that makes sense. I liked dropping in to see you at work, though, so I'm sorry about the disappeared thread. I followed up until the meta submission. Was that the solution, or was there more after that?

Good point, berk. I was busy and on travel, but I actually found the time to drop in and watch the process, finding it enjoyable to see my fellow Sons and Sons and Daughters of Sons putting their heads together to solve puzzles.

Presumably this brain food will help us all prepare for the hostile ownership takeover of our beloved Dodgers as the McCourt saga plays out in the courts.

Sax, you forgot to mention that you were a major contributor, too! It was a lot of fun, thanks for setting it up.

I'm also glad to see you took down the solve thread, I was starting to feel a little uneasy about it being up there for all to see. If we do this again, there are ways that we can make it open to SoSG readers that want to see it, but not the open web.

Ubragg, I defer to your awesome googleness and will follow your lead. It's clear that interested people like to follow the thread as it is transpiring (Foggy, the P&A editor, said that he liked it too). On the other hand, I do think we have to limit access.

Any ideas (please email me, ubragg)?

Congratulations, guys! Wish I could've been a part of it.

Next time you could make a new blog and set it to private.

ubragg said...

Is that possible? I researched that a bit and it seemed like you couldn't do that on an individual post in Blogger, unless that feature was recently introduced.

Orel, ubragg was kind enough to send over some options...let's talk at the next staff meeting as I'm not sure what's best.

Darn work firewalls.

berk, btw what ubragg suggested we submit was indeed the solution. Did you purchase an issue to keep up with the context (I hope so!)?

I meant starting an entirely new blog.

Makes sense Orel, that would definitely work. :)

Is the domain for "Sons of P&A" taken?
