3DT3: Congratulations Readers!

After checking the videotape, the officials decided to give the game to the Readers. So congratulations Readers on once more hammering the Writers into submission on our home turf. And to add insult to injury, you needed only two dimensions to beat us:

Stay tuned for more...

But you would've totally killed us on the next move.

Nice game, Sons. High-5's all around.

@rbnlaw

OT, but would you please explain what your striker is doing with that placenta?

rbnlaw said...

@Mr. C:
I'm pretty sure Van Persie thought the doctor said, "I'll meet you in Placentia with some fluids." Of course, he's going to the Balkans for treatment of ligiment tears, so all bets are off as to the course of treatment.

Orel said...

Thanks, EK. I feel it represents the true me.

@rbnlaw

I don't know about you, but when I think innovative, cutting-edge medical treatments, I think former Yugoslavia first.

RvP is very injury prone. Besides the horse placenta, he needs to go to a witch doctor to try to rid himself of that bad injury juju.

Kyle Baker said...

^ Maybe it's karma after he raped that Dutch lass.

Kyle Baker said...

^ And because he looks way too much like Rick Astley.

Nostradamus said...

@db

As with so many things Dutch (nicj excepted), who can explain it ?

Jeebus! Now that you mention it, I've never see Astley and RVP in the same place, though.

Kyle Baker said...

At the pub when we're watching the footy and making snarky comments, someone will inevitably break out with 'Never Gonna Give You Up' when RvP is shown in close-up.

I look forward to destroying the Sons in the contest of our choosing this time.

Free nose jobs for everybody!

The Dutch and their bags.....

Don't get me started.

rbnlaw said...

Geez, such hate for the Dutch.
I understand DB's distaste for RVP as he sees the world through blue colored glasses, but everyone else?

I do hate those Dutch bags though.

Never knew about the RVP alleged rape. Does he know Kobe?

rbnlaw said...

RVP does have a son named "Shaqueel." So this tenuous Laker connection continues.

Nostradamus said...

I have no official issue with the low countries, but they are, on the whole, a strange volk.

My commentary could be colored by the fact that the Liverpool roster has roughly one aggregate set of uninjured limbs, though.

rbnlaw said...

@Mr C.
Forgot you were "seeing red." As we Gunner supporters say, "If it's November, we must be hurt." Down to Eduardo (who's still not fit) as our only striker and Chelsea next weekend. Ugh.

Nostradamus said...

@rbnlaw

Seems more like "Seeing Red Cross" at this point.

rbnlaw said...

Hote to potentially jinx them, but the Irish are leading the French at Paris at the moment.

Nostradamus said...

So I poke a little fun at RvP, look what happens.

Hey, you do what works for you, Yossi, but there's no way horse placenta is kosher.

Just sayin'.

rbnlaw said...

Horse placenta; it's what's for dinner.

Horse placenta; the other, other white meat.

Horse placenta; you're soaking in it.

I may have jinxed Ireland. Then again, centuries of misery are not my fault.

Nostradamus said...

@rbnlaw

I say 3:2 ratio of Oliver Cromwell's fault to your fault.

Kyle Baker said...

Mr. C, RB-

I don't hate RvP. Just like to make fun of him.

But I also have to point out:

Same old Arsenal, always cheating!!!

What up with Henry's hand of god today? I always liked Henry and reckon him a class act, but that was a travesty. He even came out later and admitted it. Now the Frenchies are through, dammit, where they will inevitably be drawn against ENG and win on PKs, further sending me toward madness.

rbnlaw said...

Whoa there, DB. Henry would've never done that when he was a Gunner, and Eduardo was exonerated for his "dive."

That said, Henry cheated; the Irish suffer yet another setback; their economy is still in the shitter; the French are still repugnant; I still hate Barca.

Welcome to the world football thread.

rbnlaw said...

Oh, and since Gallas scored the goal, the Arsenal conspiracy is complete. Unusual given the lengthy Ireland/Arsenal connections. Course, the Arsenal/France connection is a little stronger now.

Kyle Baker said...

Gallas is former Chelsea, so not sure how that fits in the conspiracy, but I'm sure it does somehow. I'll need to start a new spreadsheet.

Kyle Baker said...

Henry wouldn't have done that as a Gooner; you're right. That's why I always considered him a class act. Except there was one time in 2003 or so when he took one of his patented quick, cheap-shot free kicks against Chelsea that scored a goal on Cudicini, and I'm still pissed off and bitter about it. Not that I hang onto things like that *eye roll*

Eric Karros said...

I have added the 'soccer' label to this post...

rbnlaw said...

DB,
Gallas is also a current Gunner:

I've decided that I have nothing against the Dutch, or their bags for that matter, but rather, the Belgians.

All of their stupid beers come in 11.2 oz bottles. WTF? I want my 12 fl oz and I want them now!

Kyle Baker said...

Very familiar w Gallas as a Gooner, RB. He is the captain, even, I believe.
