As the objective of baseball is to score more runs than the other guy, shouldn't the awards be the other way around?

But then where would the alliteration go? Where would baseball be without alliteration?

As I opined on another blog, shouldn't there be an alliterative award for stealing, baserunning, etc?

Copper Cleats? Kemp would pick that up too.

Every good science nerd knows that a pitching award MUST be made out of potassium.

And yet, they still insist on making them out of Tungsten.

@fanerman

"Where Would BaseBall Be without alliteration?"

"without alliteration" is the only part of that sentence lacking alliteration.....

No real significance to that other than it blows my mind.

BTW- I'm very disappointed SOSG didn't report on Derek Jeter's 4th gold glove. What does the man have to do before somebody notices him?

@PB
Who does this "Jeter" guy play for?

When you cannot avail youself of alliteration, let a simile be your umbrella.

I think there's a metaphor in there somewhere.

Another thought; who do the players think they are honoring a couple of hacks like Kemp and Ethier when NEITHER was an all-star? This was an obvous affront to the far superior J. Werth and S. Victorino.
MLB should be ashamed. (tounge now out of cheek)

I've been in SF on biz so just now got a chance to drop in a give props to my boys Kemp and Ethier on this honor. I could wrassle a gator I'm so proud of them.

To quote PB, who more than aptly sums up my emotion as a result of the awards, "Jayson Werth, Raul Ibanez, Shane Victorino......SUCK IT."
