Clayton Kershaw (1-3, 4.53) vs. Randy Johnson (8-7, 4.58).
COMMENTS:
Dear Dodger Fans,
Thank you for my warm reception in Los Angeles! You guys sure are a classy act. I just want to let you all know I'm going to do my very best to hit a lot of home runs and help the Dodgers win the division...and maybe even the World Series! I have two World Series rings, you know. I'd show them to you but I'm not quite sure where they are...maybe the glove compartment. I'll check on that later.
Anyhoo, part of the reason I'm such a good player is that I'm a relaxed player. I don't let any of that off-field stuff get to me. Sometimes I don't let any of that on-field stuff get to me either! Ha ha! Seriously, to ease myself into the L.A. lifestyle I thought I'd have a BBQ this evening at my place. You want to come? I'm going to fire up the grill, oh, say about 7:40. See you then!
Sincerely,
Manny

I tried to convince a salesman at my company to give me his Dugout Club seats for tonight's game. Unfortunately I wasn't the only one with that idea and he decided to hold onto the seats. He's smarter than most sales guys.
Kemp, RF

WHERE IS ETHIER???
Yesterday I heard that Ethier had stomach flu symptoms. That better be the only reason he isn't starting tonight.
Well, there is that whole lefty-lefty thing.
True. But Jones always has that swing-and-a-miss thing. No matter who is pitching.
Jones will save seven runs with his glove tonight.
Casey Blake with a great play!
The crowd is booing, but Kershaw is clearly missing. He's having a hard time spotting PE#1 for strikes.
Kershaw made a great bunt. Berroa is at second.
Kemp was robbed...
Blake with another good defensive play.
Manny with his first single as a Dodger. One out.
Andruw Jones has just made a sloppy throw and Jackson is on third. If he can't even play his Gold-Glove winning defensive, why is he taking playing time from Ethier?
King James with a single, no outs!
Jones: 2 at-bats, 2 K's.
Then you see Joe Torre with a very disappointed look on his face. What'd you expect, Mr. Torre?
Great Dbacks defensive and Berroa GIDP. Berroa took 10 or 11 pitches, he ended with a hard line caught by Hudson. It seems King james was far away from first and got tagged. Mariano Duncan started a heated discussion with the ump, got ejected.
King James couldn't catch the ball, therefore there was no double play. He made a quirky approach to Kent's throw.
Pierre reached on an error, pinch-hitting for Kershaw.
Pierre reached second due a horrible throw by Snyder.
Kemp with a RBI double! no outs!
Clayton Kershaw, meet Chan Ho Park.
I shouldn't give Park too much crap. He's been good this year. And this game is still winnable.
Manny legged out a bunt single but Kemp overran third and got caught in a rundown. Hard to tell if Kemp had a reason to go for home, given the D'backs had botched the play.
We can't ask for perfection every time. But we gotta admit Kemp wasted a chance to score another run. However, i'd take him over Jones and Pierre any day.
Epale, Orel!
Epale, Karina! Yes, Kemp made the final out at third. But he also drove in the Dodgers' only run.
Can you believe the Angels? Swept Boston at Fenway and have beaten the Yankees twice so far.
Chan Ho wobbly. How about some Kuo action?
Nope, Beimel coming in.
Sure, and he also is in a 19-game hit streak. Mistakes happen and Kemp is someone i want to see play as much as possible. I don't want to give him crap either, it was just a game situation. Maybe if he had stayed on third, someone would have acused him of not be daring enough, for example.
I "saw" that Angels and Yankees game tonight. It was an unbelievable game. I think the Rays or the Angels should be the American League candidates for the World Series.
Chan Ho's HR the first allowed by the Dodgers in nine games? Wow.
Thanks, Joe. 2-1 D'backs. Wade in.
Why didn't Torre leave Beimel?.
Let's not give Kemp too much slack. It was a dumb play.
Beimel is a LOOGY. Left-handed One-Out Guy.
Dodgers pitchers have the best ERA in the league. This pitching is sweet, only if they could score more runs...
C'mon Wade. Give us a chance.
This game just goes to show you good pitching beats bad hitting.
Nice job, Wade!
Thanks, Wade!
If we lose 2-1 again I will scream.
I just told Hannah we'll go for a walk after the Dodgers win. She sat down and started watching the TV.
Jones inspires a musical interlude.
That's animal cruelty, Rob.
We won't. We have a great bullpen and there are 2 innings left, right?
Is that Don Johnson in the first row behind home plate?
The Kids are Alright...because they're well-rested.
Wade is badass!
Finally, Andre!
Mark Sweeney's here! We're all saved!
Freakin idiots doing the wave during a tight game!
Don't cry, Kemp.
I guess Manny will just have to hit a walk-off HR in the 9th....
Of course, Orel.
Romero is from Maracaibo, Strike him out, Brox!
Bay won it for the Red Sox. Griffey won it for the White Sox. Manny....
...hits into a DP.

Three games back. We'll do it again tomorrow.
They'll win tomorrow, because i won't be watching or in the computer...
Hannah's going for a walk anyway, 'cause she's a good dog.
It's not her fault, Rob. Hannah deserves to be spoiled.
