Schilling Welcomes Drew with Open Arms, Medical Questions

From the Truth and Rumors section of SI.com:

Curt Schilling had his differences with J.D. Drew in the past but the Red Sox pitcher said he would welcome the free agent outfielder as a teammate. -- Boston Herald

Do we know what those "past differences" were?

At least in Boston, Drew could hide behind the outsized personalities of Schilling and David Ortiz.

Found it: "Drew and agent Scott Boras drew Schilling’s wrath after scorning his former team, the Philadelphia Phillies, after he was the second overall selection in the 1997 June player draft" (BostonHerald.com).
