From the AP article "Boras says Matsuzaka worth $100 million" at ESPN.com:

"In Japan, he's known as the national treasure," Boras told some three dozen media representatives -- nearly all representing Japanese outlets. "Here, he will be known as Fort Knox."

I'm no Red Sox sympathizer, but this is insanity. There's no way a guy who has never thrown a pitch in the major leagues should get that kind of money. If this deal falls through—and it should—look for the Penny-for-Manny rumors to kick into high gear.
