Red Sox, Enamored with Dodgers, Sign Lugo to Join Drew

Sure enough, Julio Lugo wins the waiting game by having the Red Sox accept his offer to play for $36M over four years.

Lugo's addition knocks out offensive force (and former Dodger) Alex Cora from the starting rotation in Boston. When you're Cora, it isn't like a .238 BA screams "job security," but it has got to be pretty depressing to be bumped by a guy who batted .219 for his prior team.

What's gotten into the Red Sox? They're making the Yankees look conservative.

I think FoxSports.com has a piece on the passive stance of Brian Cashman so far this offseason. I haven't read it, though--
