Scoreboard Watching: Well Played, Von's Virgil Village

Scoreboard watching while we await the Rockies.

Steve Sax said...: Here's the recap: Giants were down 4-1 in the seventh, but scored two runs in the seventh and 1 in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extras.

In the 10th, AZ's AJ Pollock HRs to make it 5-4 AZ. SF counters with a Matt Duffy RBI single, but Joe Panik forces Angel Pagan at home for the second out, and Brandon Crawford Ks to end the inning 5-5.

In the 11th, the Snakes have the bases loaded with two outs, and Yasmany Tomas hits a comebacker to end the inning. 5-5. Giants go 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 11th.

In the 12th, Aaron Hill doubles with men on first and second, to put the Diamondbacks up 7-5. There are seagulls all over the field at this stage, as they aren't expecting an extra-inning game.

In the bottom of the 12th, Pagan leads off with a single, but a Oyster Pubes fly out and a Brandon Belt (2-for-22 this season; 14 hitless ABs) force leaves a man at first with two out. Duffy doubles to score belt and make it 7-6.

And Joe Panik, who tripled in the ninth to send the game to extras, hits a comebacker to end the game.

AZ 7, SF 6 (12).
