Chad Billingsley (1-1, 8.00) vs. Tim Lincecum (1-1, 0.64).
Something about the Dodgers makes the Giants break out the Flubber. In their five meetings so far, the Giants have made six errors, and thankfully the Dodgers have been canny enough to take advantage of them. But they'll need every scrap of luck tonight, because what are the chances the Dodgers can beat Lincecum for a second straight time? At Pay Phone Park?
Now it's time for my obligatory slobbering over Matt Kemp. Hey, it's not like I'm alone. "Matt Kemp is the center of the universe," gushes Jon Weisman. Matt Kemp should bat leadoff, proclaims Tony Jackson. They should rename the bison the Matt Kemp, say I. With his new focus and discipline, the man isn't just a five-tool player — he's a five-weapon player.
Injury update. This from @TBrownYahoo:
Ivan DeJesus Jr will be in uni for Dodgers tonight, in place of Furcal. LA checked on Eckstein in spring, told it would cost $2 mil. Passed.
As Clayton Kershaw goes, so seems to follow the Dodgers' new $35-million man, Billingsley. Win-win in L.A. Lose-lose in Colorado. A win-win in SF won't be easy, but if the Giants' porous defense cooperates, it's definitely doable.
