A Big SoSG Thank You to Josh Rawitch

Remember the day after high school senior prom, when you wake up a little hung over and slow the next morning? And the sun seems to be a little warmer and brighter, and the birds are chirping louder? And you got so lucky last night that you've got a huge grin on your face that stretches from ear to ear?

Yeah, it's kind of like that, right now.

Last night's invitation by Dodgers VP of Public Relations Josh Rawitch to join him in the Dodgers' Suite was an absoultely unforgettable night to remember. I want to thank him for his hospitality, candor, and for the parade of guests that he arranged to come by our suite and chat with us: Ned Colletti, Frank McCourt, and Tommy Lasorda. All three of them were polite, gracious, and candid with their opinions about the Dodgers, the team's future, and things to come.

Rawitch deserves an amazing amount of credit for setting up this evening, which was truly a Dodger fan's dream come true. It truly was a magnanimous gesture that was not only incredibly generous, but also very avant-garde in the very thought of embracing some Dodger bloggers--including nameless and faceless bloggers, mind you. The organizational logistics that must have been required to prepare this evening on such short notice also speaks volumes about Rawitch's initiative and entrepreneurial spirit. The Dodgers' organization is lucky to have him on staff...as are we.

We have pictures and videos and thoughts coming soon, but on behalf of Orel and Delino, a big thank you from Steve Sax and the Sons of Steve Garvey.

Rawitch has earned not only his pay, but also his own label! Well played, Frank - it sounds like an awesome evening.

And it turns out you can approximate the same experience at home by toggling between mlb.com Gameday and alyssa.com.

Um, I never got lucky at prom. But then you probably already knew that.

Hey, now my comment doesn't make any sense. Trust me, folks, in its previous context it was excessively clever.

I think it still works. You can never go wrong with an alyssa.com reference.

EK, I had totally forgotten about how you went to senior rpom with Alyssa Milano! classic memory.

Yes, but if you remember, she dumped me the next day and later hooked up with a few of my Chess Club teammates.

Check, mate.
