Not only do the Dodgers get owned—again—by Jake Peavy, but recent walk-off hero Delwyn Young takes one in the face. From Diamond:
Delwyn Young was hit by a line drive off the bat of Russell Martin during batting practice while he stood near a bullpen mound, and it struck him above the right eye. Young never lost consciousness and did not suffer a concussion, but later felt nauseous during the game and went to a nearby hospital to undergo a CT scan, which came back negative. Young is day to day.
Tony Jackson covers Martin's reaction:
Russ seemed a bit shaken by the whole incident, too. He ran down to the bullpen to check on DY.
Get better, Pee Wee! We may need you sooner than you think!
