Think about it: The Dodgers could sign free-agent right-hander Jason Schmidt, trade right-hander Brad Penny for a corner outfielder, then take a run at [Andruw] Jones, [Vernon] Wells or Torii Hunter next off-season while retaining all of their top prospects.
That scenario warms the cockles of my heart, maybe below the cockles, maybe in the sub-cockle area.
