Clayton Kershaw (6-5, 2.08) vs. Oswalt the Lucky Rabbit (0-2, 7.36)
Sorry folks, gotta make this one quick. The suddenly resurgent Dodgers start a 13-game swing through the Western Division tonight in Colorado. Their first task is dealing with the not-very-good-anymore-but-could-still-humble-the-Dodger-bats Oswalt and the hitting streak of Michael Cuddyer. (But no Tulo!)
On the other hand, PUIG. IN. COORS. FIELD.
Should be a dandy.

Is it too much to expect Puig to hit 8 homeruns tonight?
In the first inning? No, no it isn't.
Puig hasn't hit a bomb in quite some time.
I'm getting anxious.
I hope Puig doesn't get too excited hitting there and mess up his swing or head
The basement door is unlocked. We just have to turn the knob...
Dodgers take this mask from me
I don't need it anymore
Puig is on a hitting streak
Feels like we're knocking on the cellar door
Louie Screws is a free agent.
I'm hopeful for tonight's game.
But let's not forget. MARMOL. IN COORS FIELD.
Yikes.
SAX. DRINKING. COORS. LIGHT.
(Man, this tastes like water. Though it IS cold...)
CIN 1, SF 0, Bot 1.
Maybe it's just me, Sax. But Coors Light tastes like anti-freeze diluted with expired rubbing alcohol.
AZ loads the bases in the second, but don't score.
It's very possible that I have never drunk Coors Light. I don't drink much alcohol and when I do, I don't pay for the cheap shit.
I don't always drink beer, but when I do, it shouldn't taste of piss.
Some call me "The Least Interesting Man in the World".
Watching MLB Network, and the crawl reminded me that Kershaw's career ERA at Coors is 5.68 in 11 starts.
Whoo-boy.
Also no Dexter Fowler, placed on DL today...
First place is so last year. Everyone is taking about the last place Dodgers.
Kershaw's got this. He has his mojo back.
No vin
Booooooo
Kemp dropped to sixth? Hmmmmm
Yay Puig single.
Puig 1b, but CS
Both of the last two times he got caught, Puig's right arm was way out past the bag while he was getting tagged on the left arm.
Guess we'll never see him slide feet-first.
Dammit, Mellis, we can't give away outs like that.
3-1 Mets!
What the he'll happened to Dante Bichette? He looks terrible.
The picture in this GT is flopped.
The picture in this game thread has floppy ears.
Get Puig some shades!
Hanley hit a shoulder-high pitch for a single.
Reds up 3-0
Consecutive singles!
Corners with none out for the dodgers in the second
Kemp groundout scores Hanley and advances Andre. AJ walks so now runners on 1st and 2nd for Urine.
Collins and Lyons sound like the biggest bunch of homers. Mattingly is not going to get manager of the year.
Urine RBI!
Urine single scores Andre. AJ to 2nd.
Kershaw K's. Now up to MEllis.
MLB @MLB 1m
BREAKING: @SFGiants CF Gregor Blanco ends @Reds RHP Homer Bailey's perfect game bid with leadoff walk in 7th. He still has no-hitter.
Mellis grounds out, denying Puig the chance to come up with the bases loaded.
Another Puig at-bat.
Meanwhile, Padres down 3-1 through 6.5.
Puig double. #justanothermultihitgame
The AGon-y and the Ecstasy! Puig double followed by AGon HR makes it 2-0 Dodgers.
A-Gon the Conqueror!
@Orel, 4-0 Dodgers!
Mike Petriello @mike_petriello 3m
I think the mean is regressing to Yasiel Puig.
This is fun
I meant 2-0 Dodgers in that inning.
Why is A-Gon a conqueror?
Aegon Targaryen, the First of His Name, also known as Aegon the Conqueror or Aegon the Dragon, was the conqueror of the Seven Kingdoms and the founder of the ruling Targaryen dynasty of Westeros.
1-2-3 inning for Kershaw.
Damn, A.J.'s been watching Puig too much.
Uribe RBI! Dodgers lead 1-0 in this inning.
This could be a very, very VERY good night. Going to dinner. Don't fuck up while I'm gone.
Puig on with a runner at 2nd.
Arenado's throw was the cockiest throw I've seen a shortstop make.
Puig K. Dodgers up 5-0.
Kershaw just mowed down Cargo on four pitches. Wow.
Something is going on somewhere...
One out left for Batman.
One strike away.
GIANTS LOSE
No hitter!!!! Hahahahaha
Congrats Homer Bailey! Suck it, Giants!
Top 5, 5-0 LA, and Oswalt is still in. Wow
Mellis makes up for his earlier error.
Fuck the Gnats, Vinny!
Lotta cussing at the game tonight.
cc: Dusty
A.J. is an on-base machine!
Pedro Moura @PedroMoura 3m
With LAA/STL officially underway, there are now only 2 MLB matchups to never occur: SD at TOR and TB at LAD. Latter will happen Aug. 9-11.
PUIG!
There's the Puig HR!
PWEEEEEEEEEEEG! A triple away from the cycle. And I'm calling it...it's gonna happen tonight. Unless they throw at him next time up.
I'm actually worried that they're going to throw at Puig next time up.
For the record I totally called that bomb in my mind. I was watching the TV from the kitchen and saw the previous low and outside pitch that Puig swung wildly at. I thought, he's going to adjust and just crush the next pitch.
And he did.
Ethier stole a base??
Puig's bat flip needs work.
Bring back Kuo as a special instructor!
Kemp strikes out for the third time.
And Kemp continues to struggle. What the hell is it gonna take to get him off the schneid?
Kemp just continues to look absolutely lost. I can't explain it.
Puig is the amazing. Another homerun that never should have been. He is exposing how these pitchers can't adjust to his power.
I said give kemp till July for his body to adjust but it might be too late for his head. He seems to expect bad things to happen up there.
He crushes balls the way to the opposite field and dead center the way Piazza did--except with about 1000x the athleticism.
He is like a Manny, Piazza, Mondesi, FrankenDodger
D-Bag game is off delay and Mets put up a quick 4 in the bottom of the 7th.
Great day for the Dodgers!
7 shutout innings at Coors. I'd say Kershaw has rebounded.
Oh yeah and that Kershaw is pretty good. Stop dickin around with Marmol and lock up Kershaw!
A.J. quietly 4 for 4.
Make that 6 runs for the Mets!!
Er, two doubles and two walks.
At what point does Kemp start getting all moody bc Puig is getting all the attention?
7 runs!
I thought I saw Dinger but if was just a fat guy wearing a purple shirt behind home plate.
Law firm of Ellis & Ellis makes it 7-0 Dodgers. Puig up to hit for the cycle.
Whoo AJ is so awesome.
Kemp probably should be worried about AJ getting more attention than him.
Think I'm gonna have to drink 2.5 beers to celebrate today's games.
So the nigh-Mets are beating the d-bags handily. The Padres already lost. The gnats got no-hitter (hahahahahahahhahaa). We got a 7-0 lead in the 8th over the Rockies. Let's close this out.
got no-hit* (hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahah)
Kershaw with 98 pitches over eight scoreless.
Kershaw at 98 pitches now. 8 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 7 K. ERA currently back on the right side of 2.00. Just typing that gave me a semi.
You know, guys, I like this winning thing a lot better than all that losing we did for the first few months.
Eric Stephen @truebluela 1m
There have only been 20 complete game shutouts at Coors Field. 2 by Dodgers (Hideo Nomo no-hitter in 1996, Dave Mlicki in 1998)
Puig bat-flip via paintthecorners

Don't forget about HanRam.
And don't forget about Dre!
8-0 Blue now.
Kemp weak grounder here - I'm calling it!
Damn, Matty gave it a ride!
Damn. I thought that might go out.
Guys, I'm stuck in a drive thru line, having missed most of tonight's events. I am freaking out!
Damn. Could have been a HR on a fully recovered shoulder?
Maybe Mr. F. Hope he still has some healing to do.
This has been a perfect day of baseball.
Colorado Dodger fans represent!
Wow. What a game.
We make out of fuckin last place party!!!
Post-game interview on KCAL?
End the hit-streak for good measure.
Go Kershaw! GO DODGERS!!!!
108 pitches to get the CGSO. Nice work, Kershaw.
Wow. Just fucking wow.
That was fuckin' awesome!
Just. Fuck. Yeah.
Just think, it'll be even better with Crawford at the top of the line-up instead of MEllis.
And better with Chase Utley at 2B.
Please tell me you're going with a Ratt "Out of the Cellar" reference tonight for the PGT.
If we get chase Utley I'm writing him a letter
Saying what, Paul?
Please be Ratt...please be Ratt...
HYPGTUP!
