Post-Game 7 Thread: Let Them Have Their Home Opener Win

Look, I didn't even get to watch this one. I only kept up with it via my phone during some meetings, then listened to the meltdown the last couple of innings. But in reviewing the GT (always a worthwhile and rewarding pursuit), I note that commenter/philosopher Alex seemed to best sum up much of the futility:
"Couple of monkeys trying to fuck a football on the left side of the infield..."
Let's chalk this one up to the home opener gods just being kind to the Pod Rays. We'll get 'em tomorrow.

Any "knowledge" I spew out onto this blog comes from years of watching the Sons do it best...

Let's get at them tomorrow!

Well, that pretty much sucked. Still, if we can win even half of the starts from Becket's spot in the rotation, that's probably a net positive.

So, we're basically getting Ted Lilly in a Josh Beckett uni, right?

Bunch of outlets picked up on the Dodger bullpen success story yesterday, so OF COURSE they shit the bed.

Dusty, you still on Charter?

Turns out they hate you.

@Stubbs 9a: But it wasn't all Beckett's fault, right? I mean, it was the first non-quality start of the season, but he still only gave up three over 5 IP.

Sax,

No, I didn't mean to imply that it was. It just stands to reason that the further down the rotation we get, the less the inherent expectation of the win. Bullpen explosions are going to happen.
