Post-Game 162 Thread: Giants Commence Four-Game Losing Streak

DODGERS 5, GIANTS 1

Well, it's been a nice year, boys and girls, but tonight we have to bring this Dodgers season to a close. Clayton Kershaw abused the Giants for eight innings, yielding three hits and one run, accumulating eight Ks. And, Kershaw singled in a run for his second RBI of the year.

Juan Rivera knocked a two-run HR in the three-run eighth inning. Alex Castellanos cranked his first major league HR. Kevin Federowicz went 1-for-3 with 2 Ks. And Mark Ellis went 0-for-2 before being removed for someone who wouldn't get thrown out at third trying to stretch a double.

The Dodgers finish 10 games over .500 (86-76), fifth-best in the NL, and exactly where our pythagorean record would have put us. We had a run differential of +40 (637-597), and our 597 RA was third-best in the NL behind Cincinnati and Washington.

All in all, a great end to a season where we ended up a wee bit short; but winning seven of our last eight helps me keep positive about 2013. Now, it's time to start rooting for the Orioles. See you on Friday!

I'm going to try VERY HARD to not be pissed if the Cards lose tonight.

Though, all in all, good, if sometimes painful, season.

Hey McCourt is gone!

I was hoping there would be no PGT. Because the PGT would be number 162. I'm not handling this well. I thought I had dealt with it, but I haven't. (cries)

I know I'm coming to this dance late, but I really need to say, win or lose or plain ole stink up the park, these dodgers of 2012 have been such a bright spot in my life this season.
My mom was diagnosed with Alzsheimers disease shorly before the season began and I have been trying to take care of her and meet all her needs...leaving me no time-for my play world with you guys and of course my 2 sistas, Karnia and The Mean One.I,ve missed you all more than I can say.

So hears to the 2012 Dodgers, the team with all the talent but not the...I don't know, heart maybe?
And here's big time to the 2012 post season where the only 1 thing that rivals my LOVE of the boys in blue is my out 'n out, thourghly disgusted, God awful HATRED of the gnats. So, we all, truly have a dog in this fight here. Oh, and just as an after thought as I again feel the neeed to pass my LOVE along to you all, I feel the urge to end this with a simple yet presise daisy cutter...Fuck you Pagan and the fuckin' horse you rode in on too.

I love you guys and gals...and I'm out.

Great to hear from you Karen. Hats off to you for managing so much in your life and still finding time to follow our Boys in Blue. Hang in there and try to check in with your SoSG family when you can!

Hoping to see a Roid-free Gnats team struggling to catch up to Ardolis Chapman's heat.
