Post-Game 21 Thread: Moonshots

Bryce Harper's first major league hit, getting spoiled by a moonshot from some random dude.

Bryce Harper's debut, getting spoiled by a moonshot from the best damn player in baseball.

DODGERS 4, NATIONALS 3 (10)

THAT...was the wildest game since the 4+1 game. I still can't breathe. Dodgers go for the sweep tomorrow, in a game that in NO WAY will be able to top this one.

UPDATE (Sax 4/29 10.29a): Noticed that the MLB.com video highlight is cropped differently as to avoid the moonshot shot. Here's Deadspin's take. Here's another video:

Tomorrow, Kemp will do a double-back flip over the catcher en route to stealing home.

Just got home. Still shaking. Can't handle it.

I need a cocktail. Will report back on my in-game thoughts when I can contain them.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

That's not all Dusty's trying to contain.

I'm also trying to contain the party in my pants.

Nope. Not a thing.

Btw, nice ass, Orel.

Don't know if any Dodgers front office folks ever browse over to these parts, but if so:

You nailed it tonight after Kemp's walk off. By not starting the Randy Newman and letting the crowd take control of the response, which of course was round after round of "MVP! MVP!" you put the icing on the cake. It was like Vin not speaking and letting the crowd speak. So well done - a night to remember!

@DB

Unfortunately, they didn't actually let the crowd take control of the response. They started the drumbeat for the "MVP! MVP!" chants. Either way, it was good that they waited on Randy Newman.

Also, was there any chance you were the one that started the wave that led to the mooning?

They really don't need the drumbeat anymore.

Dumbbeat

I know what you mean, J Steve, but it was still a mostly organic crowd response. Folks didn't need canned music to know who to chant about.

BTW - in the time it took me to write on the thread and get into my car, Kemp hit the walk off homer. Timing = Suck.
