Bear with me, I'm about to get silly.
The Dodgers currently sit at 10-3, which is fantastic. Looking at their record, though, I noticed a pattern.
Over the first four games, they won three, then lost one.
Over the next eight games, they won six, then lost two.
Hmmm. Interesting. Each streak doubled. If I were to extrapolate from this pattern, last night's win was the first of a twelve-game winning streak. That streak will be followed by a four-game losing streak, and so on. Let's break it down:
Games | Winning Streak | Losing Streak |
---|---|---|
1-4 | ||
5-12 | ||
13-28 | ||
29-60 | ||
61-114 | ||
115-162 |
That's a 131-31 record overall! Two 48-game win streaks! Not too shabby. That last set of games is technically part of a 96-32 streak, but we run out of games at that point. If the pattern continues into the postseason, that means a clean sweep to a World Series title! Nicely done, lads.

Or, you could look at the pattern another way: adding three games to each win streak and one game to each losing streak. Let's see where we go with that:
Games | Winning Streak | Losing Streak |
---|---|---|
1-4 | ||
5-12 | ||
13-24 | ||
25-40 | ||
41-60 | ||
61-84 | ||
85-112 | ||
113-144 | ||
145-162 |
That adds up to 126-36, which guarantees a postseason appearance. But that's where we run into problems. If the streak pattern continues into the postseason, that means nine straight wins followed by nine losses. Or to put it simply: sweeps of the NLDS and NLCS, going up 2-0 in the World Series, only to lose four straight. But hey, at least we'd have another World Series appearance, right?

I'm pulling a Karina and going to remain optimistic that we go all the way.

Or it's one loss for every three wins, which equals a 121.5-40.5 record.
I'll take it!
Urine will screw this up.

Hard to argue with that, Spank.
