Opening Day Down in Kokomo

The Beach Boys are coming to Dodger Stadium on Opening Day!

The Dodgers announced today a season-long partnership with The Beach Boys to jointly celebrate Dodger Stadium's and The Beach Boys' 50th anniversaries. The Beach Boys will launch Dodger Stadium's 50th Anniversary presented by State Farm on Opening Day, Tuesday, April 10 (vs. PIT at 1:10 p.m.), with a special performance by the band followed by the National Anthem.

As part of this first-ever partnership, The Beach Boys and the Dodgers will offer co-branded merchandise featuring the band's 50th Anniversary logo and the stadium's 50th Anniversary logo. Starting on Opening Day, these commemorative items will be available at Dodger Stadium and on The Beach Boys' 2012 reunion tour.

The Dodgers will also dedicate the Friday, May 18 game (vs. STL at 7:10 p.m.) to The Beach Boys. Prior to the start of the game on Beach Boys Night, the Dodgers will once again treat fans to the legendary band's most memorable tunes as The Beach Boys' recorded music will be played in-stadium. After the game, fans can go on the field to watch a Friday Night Fireworks show set to The Beach Boys' music.

Any chance they'll perform Pet Sounds in its entirety? Or recreate scenes from Cocktail?

A couple of years ago, I saw Brian Wilson perform Smile at the Hollywood Bowl. I'm pretty sure they had him behind a keyboard that was not plugged in. As another great singer once said, "Still crazy after all these years."

I'm fucking there if John Stamos makes a special guest with the Beach Boys.

If you put Timmeh next to Wilson in that pic you'd have the Captain and Tennille.

I've loathed the Beach Boys for fifty years and am glad I'm going to the second game, rather than this one.

We'll get there fast and then we'll take it slow!

I love the Beach Boys as much as Dave above must loathe them. Bring it!
