At-Game Recap: Opening Day 2013 (Part 1)

Wow, that was an amazing game. An Opening Day win over the Giants...it doesn't get better than this.

And Clayton Kershaw is the man. Dueling Matt Cain over six innings, before knocking a game-winning home run to center in the bottom of the eighth inning, and then coming back to complete the shutout? It was amazing. What a stud. I'm so grateful he's on our side.

I will have to post my pictures of Opening Day 2013 over time, but here's the first batch from a glorious day (and a glorious win!) at Dodger Stadium on April 1, 2013:

Heading up to the stadium, people are already partying at 10am!

This game is SOLD OUT.

Roving Dodger Stadium ticket guys help process the $10 parking transaction...but it didn't get us through the parking turnstiles any faster...

SOLD OUT, I tell you!

Garvey, Kershaw, and Kemp approach the Stadium.

New signage heading up to the reserve level.

Bobbling outside the reserve level gates.

And here's a surprise: an Old Time Band, just like what they have at Wrigley Field! I liked this so much, I took a movie:

More photos from Opening Day to come soon!

Keep it coming, Saxy!

Where does this rank in the home openers you've attended?

I'll be in Reserve 17 tonight. I'm genuinely excited for Ryu's debut.

How old is that security guard giving you the stink eye? 11? 12?

Those aren't security guards. They were uniformed kids giving out the magnet schedules as one passed through the turnstiles.

That said, yeah he's probably about 11 years old. And giving me the stink eye.

OK, I just noticed he had an LAPD patch. Probably an academy program.

Magnet Schedule Academy, I'm sure.

Hey, I went to Magnet Schedule Academy. Our whole graduating class was attractive.
