Chad Billingsley (0-0, -.--) vs. Cory Luebke (0-0, -.--).
What do you mean the season isn't one game long? Dammit! And here I was ready to buy playoff tickets.
The Dodgers look to double their win total today as a hopefully vomit-free Chad Billingsley takes the mound. Thunder Thighs had a pretty rough spring (5.91 ERA, for what it's worth) and was reportedly working on his pitch selection until the end.
Then again, Matt Kemp showed us yesterday that spring training is just that. Chad's slate is clean until he throws his first pitch. Then we can pile on him.
The Padres are starting Cory "Jiffy" Luebke, who they liked enough to sign to a deal potentially worth $27.75 million through 2017. It's exactly the kind of move that's become the specialty of small- to mid-market teams. Which, thanks to Magic, we're no longer in danger of becoming. Thanks, Magic!*
