Scott Van Slyke, man: what a game. SVS went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs (it would have been three runs, had Joc Pederson not tried to advance on a Jimmy Rollins fly ball to right in the fifth inning; Giancarlo Stanton made a nice over the shoulder catch and then doubled off Pederson from first, before SVS (who had tagged from third) was able to cross the plate; wow that was a confusing sentence to structure, so I hope you followed all that!).
But Van Slyke countered with a nice inning-ending double play of his own in the seventh inning, fielding a Adeiny Hechavarria fly ball in left and throwing a strike to Yasmani Grandal for the putout at home. And then, in the bottom of the ninth and down 3-2, Van Slyke homered to left to score Enrique Hernandez (PR for Yasmani Grandal, who walked with one out) and Ethier (who singled, also with one out). Pretty awesome walk-off ending for the bearded one!
Zack Greinke went 7.0 IP with 6 H and 1 ER (2 BB, 5 Ks), but was denied his sixth win after Yimi Garcia shit the bed in the ninth inning, giving up three hits including a two-run HR by Christian Yelich. Sidearmer Steve Cishek of the Marlins also blew a save opportunity, like Garcia, by giving up the SVS bomb in the ninth; Cishek now has three saves / four blown saves in seven opportunities, including ninth-inning loss last night in SF.
Former Dodger Dee Gordon went 0-for-4 with a CS. We see another former Dodger, Dan Haren, tomorrow night.

Two blown saves for Cishek in two nights? No wonder he looked like he was going to cry in the dugout.
Dee got a huge ovation when he first stepped in last night. He was clearly very emotional and had to step out of the batter's box as he doffed his cap to the crowd. Neat moment.
Last night I was also close enough and paying enough attention to catch the umps saluting Vinny before the game. I never get tired of that.
I still like GWWOHR but they haven't been the same since Oderus Urungus died
Cishek was a train wreck after that HR, I agree. I felt bad for the guy. Not too bad, though.
