Zack Greinke (5-0, 1.56) vs. Tom Koehler (2-3. 5.18).
Remember this guy? Banished to the hinterlands of Miami this past winter, Dee Gordon has gone on to lead the league in batting average (an amazing .439, ahead of #2 Adrian Gonzalez at .377) and WAR (2.3). His 12 SBs still trail the Reds' Billy Hamilton (16), but suffice it to say, though Howie Kendrick has been no slouch at second (Kendrick's OBP of .817 (4th among NL 2Bs) trails Gordon's .999; and, surprisingly, Gordon has only 16 Ks to Kendrick's 21), Gordon--at least the good Gordon, when he wasn't bunting all the damn time (*)--and his wide, electric smile, is missed this season. It will be good to see the speedy little toothpick again at the Stadium this week.
(On the other hand, there's probably no amount of time I can use to prepare for seeing Ichiro Suzuki in the Marlins' crazy pastel colors, but that's another story.)
Meanwhile, on the mound for us is more of a dreamboat than a speedboat. But we'll keep posting this, as long as Greinke keeps winning (cue the wind machine, please!):
Note: (*) According to baseball reference, Gordon is actually 3-for-5 in 2015 on bunt attempts, which is much better than his career 38-for-101. Small sample size, and all that.

Sponge Time!!
THANK YOU SONS!!
VINNY TONIGHT
Wonderful standing 'O' for Dee.
0-0 through 1
0-0 through 2
Just fired up my mlb.tv to see Dee's second AB
dee works a full count into a walk. And here he goes
Yasmani throws out Dee! Perfect throw, CS to end the inning top of the third.
Ethier works a full count only to pop out to short. Boooo.
Greinke works a two-out walk! What a dreamboat.
nice D by Hechavereianfiraoionaweogina;ra there
Tom Koehler has a NO-HITTER THROUGH THREE
UJTD!
0-0, mid-4
Tom Koehler has a no=hitter through 3.1 IP. And apparently his ERA in the fourth inning is a woeful 20.25; but he just got J-Roll to K badly
And there goes the no-hitter! Kendrick with a double to the right-field wall
No Ichiro tonight, which is a bummer.
A-Gon single to center, but Kendrick held at third (Kendrick had to hesitate to make sure the ball wasn't caught). Men at the corners, one out, and Justin Turner up.
Turner is looking more and more like a hobbit
Turner with a slow roller to short; A-Gon forced but Turner beats the throw to first. Kendrick scores.
1-0 Dodgers
Hit a HR here Yasmani
Miami ball clubs have the shittiest team names ever. i would have named the baseball team the Miami Connection
Yasmani walks.
Nice to see the green streak behind the pitch on MLB.com's GameDay. It's rare, to signify the knuckle curve
Geaux,Puig!
Hit a HR here Andre
Wow, Andre just missed that HR. It's foul, but not by much
Damn. i thought Puig hit that one out.
And called K for Ethier, and Ethier is jawing.
1-0 LA through four.
@spnk: er, that's not Puig
i can't root for Dre,Saxy, so i call him Puig.
@spnk, let's analyze this a bit.
I find Andre a little petulant, and though he seems to be a team player most of the time, the times when he chooses to gripe about not getting in the starting lineup always seem VERY ill-timed. That said, he was the walk-off master for us in seasons past; and though he probably isn't going to be the bust-out OF we may have once thought, he's still servicable for us.
And a lot better than Milton Bradley, I might add.
Pederson works an eight-pitch walk, so it's men at the corners with one out.
Dammit, Pederson's baserunning costs us a run. Stanton with a sweet catch in right, and then doubles off Pederson at first. SVS crossing the plate does not count.
Damn. A nice play by Stanton.
Rookie move, Joc.
Oh wait a second
Vin saying today is the anniversary of Sandy's 2nd no hitter and it was against..wait for it....the gnats.
And he bested Juan Marichal.
That just makes it all the more sweeter^
Koeler wasn't even close to the plate on that sequence.
Koehler's afraid of Turner: four-pitch walk and none of those pitches were close
Two out, Turner at first, B6
Yasmani with a 1-1 count
Nice behind the back toss to 1st by Dee.
slow roller to second, and Gordon not only picks up the ball bare-handed, but also feeds the first baseman with a behind-the-back throw while running. Well done, Dee!
1-0 through 6
@karen, you and i are on similar wavelengths this evening
Noooooo
Boooooo
well, that's not good.
Saxy...Great minds and all...
Ozuna solo HR with one out in the seventh, to make it 1-1
Saxy...Are you watching the game? Cause something bothered Zack on that pitch to Stanton. He looked upset and is now having some trouble.
Have they announced the attendance tonight? Looks like a good crowd for a Monday night against the Marlins.
@ Saxy
that's cool and i get it. he had some great moments and did well for a time. he can have the best season of all time this year but it won't change my mind about him. i just don't like his attitude. he's a whiner not a winner.
and it still pisses me off when i think about last year when Greinke hit that homerun against the Gnats and the whole team was happy as fuck and Dre was there sitting on the bench moping. i was done with him at that moment.
Van Slyked!
nice fucking play! even got Mary Hart out of her seat on that one.
Well that was an interesting turn of events. I thought they were reviewing that.
@ karen. they were reviewing the play but time ran out apparently. i never knew there was a time limit on replay decisions.
Spanky...That's what I thought. I thought Vinny said something about Zack saying you're out of time and then walked off the field. I knew there was some kind of time limit but I've never seen it enforced.
the kids come through
2-1 Doyers
yeah, karen. Vin did say that. Greinke is a trip. it didn't seem like they reviewed the play for that long but i'll take the out.
i think Dre is trying to win me over. not going to happen, holmes
Man, that was scary. Dre really hustled on that...I think he's trying to make up with Spanky.
Well that was crazy. We said the same thing!^^^
old school Dee Gordon right there on the strikeout
i was tripping on that too karen
Yimi heating up in the pen. I'm thinking this kid just might be our future Closer.
Here we go!! I hope everyone has been living right and have not pissed off the Baseball Gods...
One
Sorry, was called away...
@karen, is greinke okay?
@spnk 9:04p: totally get it, forgot about that incident!
well shit
That was not good.
shit shit shit
Yellich 2-run HR kills us
Saxy...Yeah, he's ok. Vinny was talking about it an inning or so later and said the same thing. He seemed upset when he came in to tight on Stanton then it was like he lost his concentration.
here's that Ichiro AB I wanted to see...
Ichiro in a Marlins uniform just does not look right
And Yimi walks him.
Shit, Yimi, settle down.
Or not, here comes Donnie.
Gordon flies to left, with the bases loaded and two out. Dee ends 0-for-4.
Now we see if we have any comeback juju
i think the Giants just beat the Marlins' closer last night, so he's fallible
Tying run's aboard.
rally thong time!
Grandal with a one-out walk; Enrique Hernandez PR
This ump is calling ridiculously low "strikes"
1-2 count on Ethier, with Hernandez at first
Ethier singles. Very poised, Andre!
And now here's SVS
Ethier singles, winning run is on and tying run in scoring position!
ANDY'S BOY HITS THE WALK OFF!!!
SCOTT VAN SLYKE BABY!
I am so much happier then I was 5 minutes ago.
DODGERS WIN!
Good night, Vin!
mint that one
PGT UP!
