Is this an act? A breakdown? Either way, it's brilliant. (The fun starts about a minute in)
Joaquin's a long way from his "Leaf Phoenix" days in Parenthood. And Letterman STILL RULES!
Random rantings and ravings about the Los Angeles Dodgers, written by a small consortium of rabid Dodger fans. With occasional comments on baseball, entertainment, pop culture, and life in general.

Totally agree with you: Letterman rules.
Faster than a rolling 'O'
Stronger than silent 'E'
Able to leap capital 'T' in a single bound!
It's a word, it’s a plan...it's Letterman!
(majestic three-note fanfare)
It's a put-on.
There is additional footage floating out on the webs where Phoenix takes his shades off right before the commercial break, he and Dave shake hands, and then share a laugh.
Plus, Casey Affleck was in the audience filming the interview. Total put-on.
Is that Joaquin Phoenix in the chair? Or Casey Blake?
The Crispin Glover one was supposedly a put-on too, although he never admitted it. Letterman didn't seem to be in on it that time.
