"Well, it's been thirty years, should we try a giant spherical space station again? BUT THIS TIME NO EXHAUST PORTS OR SHAFTS BIG ENOUGH TO FLY INTO!"

"Little does Luke know that the GALACTIC EMPIRE has secretly begun construction on a new armored space station even more powerful than the first two Death Stars. Combined. Really."

That does it. I'm gonna have to break down and watch all the Star Wars movies and see what all the hoopla is about...

Okay...Help me out here, which ones do I need to see to understand what the heck you all are talking about when you say things like "But this time no exhaust ports or shafts big enough to fly into"...huh?? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!!!

Watch the original Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983).

They made three very shitty prequel movies in 1999, 2002, and 2005 that told the story of what happened before the original Star Wars, but no one likes those. You can live a full life without ever seeing those.

Thanks Gnomes. I think now the force will be with me (that's about the extant of my Star Wars vernacular at this point!!!)

I promise to get better though...

So while Return of the Jedi hasn't aged as well as Empire Strikes Back, it still has its moments.

I dunno, A New Hope and especially Empire Strikes Back are really the litmus tests. If an unfamiliar person likes those, then might as well watch Return of the Jedi, too. Then if the unfamiliar are still on board, I don't think the prequels are THAT bad. I mean, they're flawed in a lot of ways, but if you really enjoy the original trilogy, might as well watch the prequels once.
