A Question Of Mojo

Okay, fearless SoSGers, I have a question.

Tonight the Giants host the Rockies in a meaningless game, with Andrew Cashner going up against Yusmeiro Petit. This was the same matchup in Petco Park last week, when Cashner owned the Giants through eight and came away with the 3-2 victory.

I have a chance to go to tonight's game. I don't get to see a lot of baseball games live anymore, so I am kind of interested in going to this game.

Now, I didn't want to go to the game if there was a chance that I would get to see the Giants clinch the Wild Card at home. But, by virtue of Milwaukee's 5-3 loss to the Reds this morning, the Giants have already backed into the Wild Card spot. So there is nothing to play for tonight, except pride (more so for the Padres).

And look, the Giants are far from done here. It's clear that their two recent World Series wins evidence that the baseball gods have shined upon San Francisco recently. If they get over the one-game hump, there's a very good probability that we would meet the Giants in the playoffs again. And remember, we were only 10-9 against them this season: hardly a dominant ratio. So I am still worried about the Giants, so long as they have a single breath of life in them.

From a mojo perspective, is this okay for a diehard Dodger fan to attend this game? Or should I stay home and not risk angering the baseball gods?

One other point: it's cold up here. It was drizzling this morning.

I think the weather reason is a good enough one to not go.

If you want to go to the game because you are a fan of baseball, you should go. The baseball gods won't be upset. They'd probably be happy actually. But you can't go with ill intentions, for example to laugh and talk shit if Cashner beats them again. You have to go as a fan of baseball and possibly garlic fries

@FB: very good mojo analysis. Hence I would need to change clothes, as today I am wearing a Dodgers cap, shirt, and jacket.

Got a lot of angry looks today in SFO.

Got high fives in LAX.

I think I'd end up pissing off the baseball gods a little. I'd go as a fan of baseball, but I'd also go wearing Dodgers gear and chearing for the Padres. Garlic fries sound good now.

I think Jeter would be okay with it

Garlic fries do sound good. Brother in law (giants fan) showing complete apathy toward going. We will see.

Why are the Yankee fans chanting "ow my feet hurt?" Don't they know they can just sit down?

Ended up not going to the game because brother in law is apathetic. I can see the glow of the center field lights. It's sad.

On the other hand, this Goat Hill Pizza isn't bad. Sourdough crust!

Posey breaking out of his slump here, he's 2-for-2

4-0 Giants in the third

I knew you shouldn't have gone.

Giants almost blew it, up 6-0, then down 8-6, but won 9-8. This team is plucky. Don't want to underestimate them.

Thoughts of meeting gnats in post season makes me nervous. I'll be spending my time help old ladies cross the street, feeding the homeless, etc. to please the baseball gods and juice the karma.
