Is Billy Beane a good GM? It seems to me that he rode a 'roided up Giambi and (rumoured to be 'roided up) Tejada as well as three prime time pitchers who were pitching out of their minds to a guru/genius status.
I don't understand the alleged causality between A's future and Billy Beane being "in LA," whatever that means.
If A's cannot move to San Jose, when the Dodgers have a real owner, don't be surprised if there's an earthquake sometime next year in L.A.
L.A. of Anaheim?
Beane has a minority stake in the A's, and a new stadium in San Jose would bring in more revenue, which would lead to better players and more money for himself.
If the A's cannot move to San Jose, they are essentially stuck in the quagmire of Oakland, doomed to small-market mediocrity without the aid of advanced metrics to scratch together a winning team.
Any of you guys watching the MLS Cup?
@Sax
Yes, I watched the whole thing.
damn you people for not addressing my point!
