Dodger Pumpkin Stencils Teach Youngsters Valuable Life Lesson

SHOULD BE

IS

In high school English we learned the difference between should be and is. In literature, this difference provides opportunities for irony or symbolism; in real life, this difference gives today's children a peek into the realities of adult life.

Thanks to the Dodger pumpkin stencils at the Dodgers.com Fan Forum, we are reminded of the difference between should be ("Hey, we'll sign Juan Pierre! Give him a fifth year to seal the deal! He'll hit for average and steal bases!") and is ("Pierre turns singles into doubles—for the opposing team! His OBP is .331! We're out $45 million!").
