Dodgers start Derek Lowe, RHP (6-5, 3.44) vs. Shaun Marcum, RHP (2-2, 4.06).
Dodgers: 35-26 (3rd place NL West, 1.5 GB, W1)
Blue Jays: 28-32 (4th place AL East, 11.0 GB, L3)
From Dodgers.com, the scouting report on the starters:
Dodgers: Lowe took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the Pirates before things got a little rocky with home runs by Xavier Nady and Jose Bautista. But for most of the game, his sinker had the Pirates playing pepper with the Dodgers infielders. Lowe walked one and struck out six after allowing only one run over the previous 13 innings.Blue Jays: Marcum exited Sunday's start against the White Sox after just three innings due to tightness in his back. The right-hander hasn?t experienced any lingering issues and Toronto manager John Gibbons has indicated that Marcum is still scheduled to take the mound against the Dodgers. Against Chicago, Marcum gave up three runs on four hits, including four home runs, with four strikeouts and three walks. He threw 69 pitches, but said the back issue hindered his ability to follow through during his delivery. Marcum is 1-0 with a 2.89 ERA in five starts for the Jays.
COMMENTS:
In the last four games, we have won exactly one (last night's game) by the seat of our pants (size 54 pants, but hey, we'll take it) and lost the other three poorly. In fact, two of those losses were pathetic, followed by one which was more of a horrific flair. We have two more games against a sub-.500 team before meeting the Mets and the Angels. Let's get some frickin' wins, dammit.
UPDATE, 4.19p:
From Inside the Dodgers, the lineup:
Furcal, SS
Abreu, 3B
Nomar, 1B
Kent, 2B
Gonzalez, LF
Vote for Russ, C
Kemp, RF (he arrived to the stadium pretty late yesterday from Vegas, which was part of why he wasn't in the starting lineup then)
Pierre, CF
Lowe, P
Hallelujah, Grady has finally seen the light. Pierre batting eighth tonight.

Steve,
You said you would stop blogging if we continued to be pathetic in hitting. I hope you were kidding because you were pissed off. (Believe me, I feel your pain) but you are the only one of these SoSG guys who have any passion. The other guys are deadheads. They are passionless. I wish Bud (the "steamer" Furillo were still alive) Are you on the bus?? (Remember that?) because we need a Dodger cheerleader around here. It is starting to look very cloudy these days especially when you turn around and see the Fkn Angels doing so good.
Hey, now! No need to resort to namecalling (well, at least for us Sons; we wholeheartedly endorse calling the members of the Dodgers, their front office, and their ownership names).
If it is simple cheerleading you want, then Go BLUE!
So now for an update (in case anyone else is watching). 0-0 bottom of 5th. Shawn Marcum's photo on MLB.com looks like Johnny Damon circa 2003 (so just before the fully hirsute Passion of the Damon look). Shudder.
Also, in case you missed it, PMS had a puff-piece, rrrr, "interview" with Frank McCourt on Friday afternoon. http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18227/1h/cchannel.download.akamai.com/18227/podcast/LOSANGELES-CA/KLAC-AM/070608-%20PMS%20Hour%202.mp3?CPROG=PCAST&MARKET=LOSANGELES-CA&NG_FORMAT=sports&SITE_ID=727&STATION_ID=KLAC-AM&PCAST_AUTHOR=AM570_KLAC&PCAST_CAT=Arts_and_Entertainment&PCAST_TITLE=AM570_KLAC_SHOWS
Dear Steve Sax:
I read the blog all the time and appreciate your passion for the team. You know I think I saw you at the game last month. I waved at you, twice in fact, but you didn't acknowledge me. That's cool, you probably didn't see me, I understand. But I hope it's not because you doubt my loyalty to the Blue Crew. I live and breathe the Dodgers, just like you. So maybe wave back to another true fan next time, sound cool? Like I said it's cool you probably didn't see me but next time just some acknowledgement to another true Dodger fan would be nice.
Just in case somebody didn't realize it, my previous post was a joke. Don't want to freak anybody out...
