Game 104 Thread: August 1 vs. Angels, 1p

Clayton Kershaw (8-6, 2.51) vs. Andrew Heaney (5-0, 1.79)

Clayton in great form (despite the glute issue the past 48 hours nagging at him) on a nice Saturday at home against our rivals from that other county way over there? I'll take it! We'll chew bubble gum and kick Heaney.

Longtime SoSG friend Jason at this game, making his once-every-five-years appearance given that he lives in [redacted], so yours truly looks forward to having a "Diet Coke" with him and possibly spooning afterward. I'm planning to get there early to watch Kid warm up/long toss, because that's a show in and of itself. No truth to the rumor I'll be having pre-pre-game drinks at El Compadre on Sunset in 3...2...1...Also a shoutout to another longtime SoSG friend Steve "P. Ditty" Dittmore, who attended last night's game after working the Special Olympics in Los Angeles the past week. Here's to both of you for putting up with us for so long!

Same lineup as yesterday. Jo sits and thinks about what he's done.

Used up all his HRs in the derby.

I'm still not used to the 'stros being an American League team...but sure am ecstatic that they are screwing with the OC team.

Ohhh, I merit the "long time friend" designation.

I'm already at the park doing my part to kill the long standing and inaccurate stereotype about when Dodgers fans arrive.

Felt a little sorry for Billy Ashley who's signing autographs out in left with no takers. I probably should have had him sign something just to keep him on his toes.

spank said...

that sucks about Billy Ashley. should have bought him a beer.

Here we go!

I was just typing a comment about how I love Howie, but that Heaney sure would look good in a Dodger uni. Then Heaney pops up the bunt and Howie's Johnny on the spot at first. Still, I wonder what how that would've turned out...

SIDDOWN,VICTORINO!

Orel said...

Sponge Boy!

Orel said...

I think every Dodger fan has thought that, CB. We love Howie but could you imagine Heaney in this rotation? Ugh

Orel said...

WOOP
I thought Kenley did a nice job there to battle back. The walk was inexcusable but the hits were a well-placed grounder and a blooper off the end of the bat. Glad he could work through that

Post-Game Thread Up! (and FB, I hadn't seen your comment but I'm already concerned about Kenley)
