Regarding the Dodgers' 14-inning, 5-4 victory Monday night: really, SF Comical writer Bruce Jenkins, is this the best you can do?
It was understandable that only a few hundred fans were around to witness the end of a 5-hour, 29-minute affair, but this was a night of monumentally inappropriate attendance in Southern California. Even in the heart of a close game, around 8:30 p.m., there were thousands of empty seats. That just doesn’t happen anywhere else when two storied rivals contest the heart of a pennant race.
We had 40,851 attendance at that game. On a Monday night.
Your birdshit stadium averages around about the same attendance, 41K, this year on a Monday night (of which you've had few Monday night home games, thanks to your cushy schedule).
Shut up.
Might I remind you how sparse your home crowds are:
And why may no one want to come near AT&T Park? Oh, yeah:
It's the birdshit.

Bruce Jenkins is the worst.
The gnats fans behind me at the game yesterday were saying the same thing. "Look at all those empty seats" I heard her say once. I just kept thinking, our stadium holds around 15K more people than yours! Of course there are empty seats!
To be fair, if we had more caramel macchiato stands on the concourse like SF, we'd add a couple more people (probably Hollywood agent-types)
If we had better popcorn too. A Dodger fan next to me last night said that AT&T Park had Orville Redenbacher popcorn and was raving about it.
(he didn't know it was actually microwave popcorn, which will kill him)
I will give AT&T Park props on the garlic fries. Those are good.
