Post-Game 89 Thread: Beachy'd Wails, Bro'

BREWERS 7, DODGERS 1

Brandon Beachy made his first start in over a year and had plenty of control problems, needing a GIDP in the first and stranding two Brewers in the second, before Milwaukee broke through in the third with a bases-clearing double by Carlos Gomez. The Brewers went up 3-0 and didn't look back, certainly not in the bottom of the eighth when Kike Hernandez sacrificed in Yasmani Grandal to put a single run on the board for the Dodgers.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers only mustered three hits off of Taylor Jungmann, who pitched a complete game for the first time in his career. I can only imagine what Mattingly said in his post-game pep talk to the team following tonight's outing? Probably something like: "Jungmann? There's no need to feel down. I said, Jungmann? Pick yourself off the ground." Hmm...

Yasiel Puig has a pretty good putout from right-center to nail Aramis Ramirez, who was trying to stretch for a double in the sixth inning. But from a highlight perspective, that was about all she wrote in tonight's game. Lead drops to 4.5 games, with one game left before the All-Star Break.
