Last Thursday, between 1pm and 1:30pm, the unthinkable happened: Dusty missed a lap (what the hell were you doing instead, Dusty?!?). That was enough to give the race to Paul, who finished the four Race days with a perfect record. Congratulations Paul!
Following them was Josh S, then Mr F, who re-took 4th from Karina. Here are the full final standings:
Stay tuned for more on Paul's trophy, coming soon...
Paul still edging out Dusty for the lead, and both have created slight separation from Josh S. And don't look now, but Karina has passed proven-obsessive commenter Mr F to move into 4th!
Full rankings:
As always, please verify scores. And, because race officials kow-tow to my schedule, they're switching it up one more time...the last Race Day is now THIS FRIDAY, 8am. Not Tomorrow, as originally scheduled, not Monday, as later rescheduled, but Friday, June 3. Good luck!
REMINDER: Final Race Day has been rescheduled from tomorrow to next Monday.
Here's the current standings and racetrack status after two days of racing:
Go!
Holy Crap, Dusty blinked, allowing Paul to take sole possession of the lead!
And don't look now, but Milka, er, Karina is making a big move, rocketing past Steve K, Lonely Fan, Jason, and Spank, to go from #9 to #5.
Here are current cumulative standings through day 2, with car # and point totals (please verify...remember today's laps were worth 6 points, last week's only 5. And today we had only 13 laps):
Visual coming soon...
Next Race Day Tomorrow, 8am! Remember, each subsequent day is worth more than the previous day, so catching up is possible. Also please note Race Day 4 will be postponed from Thursday to next Monday.
Oops! - I scheduled this to post at 11am PT by mistake (time zones confuse me) and didn't catch it until 8:31am PT. So the 1st 8am - 8:30am segment is eliminated. Only 13 segments to comment in today. Sorry!
Here are the current standings:
And here again are the rules.
Go!
Here are current standings through day 1, with car # and point totals (please verify):
Dusty and Paul have (proudly, I'm sure) an unblemished record through the first day, but Josh and Mr F are on their tails. And then we have rbn, Dusto Mag, and MLASC bringing up the rear. Here's the updated track (not necessarily to scale):
Next Race Day on Tuesday!
Here's the official field, with score as of 11:30am PT:
Please verify above scores so far.
And here again are the rules. Start your engines!
PS While you're waiting for the next half-hour segment, you can work on the puzzle below ↓
The rules are simple. There are four 'Race Days' (listed below). On each Race Day, the competition is active from 8am to 3pm. At 8am, a post will appear titled something like "Indy 505G: Race Day 1". The period between 8am and 3pm is divided into 14 half-hour segments. The first segment runs from 8:00am to 8:29am, the second from 8:30am to 8:59am, and the last from 2:30pm - 3:00pm (there's a bonus minute in the last segment).
The object is to comment in as many of the 14 segments as you can. It doesn't matter if you comment once or 100 times in a given segment, so long as you comment.
At the end of each Race Day, we'll simply count up how many of the 14 segments each competitor commented in, multiply by the multiplier factor listed below (depending on which day), and keep a running total for the 4 Race Days. Those 4 Race Days are:
So for example, if Player 1 comments in 12 of the 14 segments on the first Race Day tomorrow, he gets 12x5=60 points. Next Tuesday, if he comments in 8 of the 14 segments, he gets 8x6=48 points to add to his original 60 for a total of 108, and so on. The competitor with the largest cumulative point total at the end of the 4 days wins!
Any questions, ask them here...otherwise, watch out for the Race Day post tomorrow at 8am!
Here's the field (still accepting entries until 7pm PT tonight, comment here to register):
