Clayton Kershaw (3-3, 3.86) vs. Kyle Kendrick (2-6, 6.38).
After a 13-8 April, the Dodgers went 16-12 in May — not bad, but breaths are bated because of (1) Kershaw's slow start and (2) the offense going into deep-freeze. Well, a trip to Coors Field is good for one of those...guess which?
At least Kershaw is coming off his best start of the season, a seven-inning, ten-strikeout, zero-walk performance against Atlanta. As for the bats, if the Mile-High City and the Rockies' league-worst FIP (4.54) can't cure them, then it's going to be a long month.

I thought it was a long december, not a long june?
Maybe this year will be better than the last.
So now it has me researching:
2014: Dodgers 30-27 through May; this year: 29-20
2014 June: 18-10
I know they played the Australia games, but how did they play eight more games last year?
I was wondering that too. We've only had one rainout this year right?
I got my data off of baseball reference. It seems weird to me as well (and I hadn't even considered the rainout).
There were three games in March 2014, which I assume included the two Sydney games. April 2014 was 13-11; May 2014 was 15-15.
Maybe the months had more days last year?
Anyway, it portends a good June! (in fact we haven't had a losing June since 2012)
Ethier HR! Rollins HR!
DAMMIT A.J.
Clayton single!
Hola, ya'll. I need some good Dodger mojo tonight. It's been a rough couple of weeks. The stupid-ass Cardinals didn't help.
Well, so much for that. I hate Shitty Beer Field.
Well shit. No mojo from Arenado. Tied at 2 in 4th.
Is it time yet for us to seriously start worrying about Kid K? His last outing he was looking more like his old self but for the most part he's just not Clayton-like.
Kershaw double!
I'm not panicking about Kershaw yet. Mild concern, but I still think he'll be fine. And I'd be fine with less regular season hardware in exchange for postseason success.
Now'd be a great time for homerun number five, Howie. It's been a while.
Kershaw is also competing against his own standard of excellence. A 2-run HR at Coors Field for any other pitcher is routine.
Am I right in seeing that Kershaw is 2-for-2 from the plate? With a double?! Wow...
2-2, B5
2-2, end 5
Dre still trolling for the Spanky love.
Dre triple! His value is high hint hint
Thanks guys....You've talked me off the ledge. I'm putting my Kid K panic button away.
@Orel: Exactly. The kid's gotta be allowed a slump now and then, and have an off year during his career. But our guy's "off year" still has an ERA of under 3.50! I'll take it.
3-2 Blue!
Three straight hits to lead off the sixth. Keep it coming, Blue
JRoll must have heard about Saxy calling him out the other day. Keep up the pressure, Sax, it seems to be working for Spank hating on Dre!
Oh Kike, baby. That makes for a long walk back to the dugout. Shake it off kid.
fucking A, Enrique, picked off of second?!?! Our base running sucks.
@karen 7.18p: this cannot be JRoll, this must be Uribe in JRoll's uniform
(not that he would fit)
Arenado is not a robot after all.
Who knew???
Ellis reaches on an error, so I assume that wouldn't have scored Enrique
Still, fourth straight batter to reach
Kershaw HR right here, I'm calling it
@karen: I wonder if Arenado is continually asked by blogger if he's a robot
Kershaw RBI! 3-for-3
4-2 LA
@Saxy....The way he's been being a Dodger killer, I was beginning to wonder.
JOC!!!!!!
Who are these guys and what have they done with our Dodgers??
Between the two of them, Kershaw and Ethier have hit for the cycle.
I love and miss Dee, but he couldn't make those back-to-back plays Kendrick just made.
WOW!! Howie Kendrick with the moves tonight!
They call him safe after the review but that does not take away the two brilliant plays Kendrick just made.
Well Howie, that's telling those boys in NY what you think of their review.
11-2. wow. it was 2-2 about an hour ago.,
Speaking of 2-2, the pirates have tied it up in SF at 2
18 hits and 11 runs for the Dodgers! Love it.
Now a 4-2 lead for Bucs in I think the 5th.
4-2 Pittsburgh!
7 innings and 2 earned runs seems like a decent outing for Kershaw.
Pirates score 3 in the fifth to make it 4-2, B5
You guys get scores before I do.
Of course, I'm getting passed pieces of paper here in prison.
Dammit
Ohhhh, I'm getting some cheap thrills looking at Sponge Worthy in the dugout. Thank you camera guy.
We win! And the gnats are losing!
Saxy....I'm surprised the Taliban even has internet access where you are.
@karen, they have carrier pigeons
Holy shit, even AJEllis got a hit?
PGT up!
Please move scoreboard watching to that NPUT
