San Francisco has held the Dodgers to one run across two games thanks to sterling starting pitching efforts from Landon Roupp and Tyler Mahle (who outpitched Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani). Sure, the Giants got a little bit of luck yesterday with a three-run HR from light-hitting Patrick Bailey.
But everything came crashing down for the Dodgers thanks to 0-fer nights from Ohtani, Kyle Tucker, Will Smith, Teoscar Herhandez, Andy Pages, and Hyeseong Kim: the Dodgers guaranteed a loss in this series, a loss on the road trip, and a loss of Ohtani's on-base streak at 53 games.
Today is another day. Maybe we can get a win and salvage a little bit of pride?
