Perfect game recap.

Okay, here's my quick PGT from Game 2:

As SoSG Subbs WhatsApp'd the Sons earlier this afternoon, this game was playing with house money. Verlander should have won Game 2, the way he has been pitching--and he didn't. We almost won, multiple times, despite having a miniscule amount of hits, AND Verlander going six.

The Houston starters won't last that long against us, which means we will get to their pen--which we evidenced we can hit. And it's not just CT3 or Turner; Culberson, Pederson, Seager. and of course Puig all hit hard, as did Logan Forsythe and the incredible Kike Hernandez. We just need to stay within ourselves.

Our pen will do better than Game 2.

Josh Fields probably shouldn't pitch again for us.

And maybe Roberts managed this game a bit too tightly with the pen.

But, in Doc we trust. Let's do this in Houston.

And man, what a game at which to be. Wow. I'm emotionally spent

Word, Sax.

A lot of eyes on Doc today, but yanking Hill early resulted in three scoreless, so that wasn't a bad decision. Stripling coming in wasn't the best choice, but Morrow wasn't ready because of the late rally and Stipling should have executed. Period.

The only decision I come close to second-guessing is not letting Morrow work out of his own jam. Instead Kenley got beaten by a dribbler up the middle. Shit happens.

Absolutely LOVE that the team keeps fighting.

Sax and Nomo, you guys are right on the money with this team. The fight in the team is awesome! Come from behind wins all year long and all post season long. The pen had a bad night. It was bound to happen after 28 consecutive scoreless innings. They will bounce back. Hopefully we can too.

I have no issues with Doc's management. I observe (but not condemn) that he seemed to be managing for 9 innings, but as he said — Kenley with a one-run lead is where you want to be.

The heartbreak for me lies in how close we came, multiple times. Fields only gives up one HR. McCarthy doesn't give up the single before the HR. Puig's almost-catch. THAT BALL DOESN'T HIT THAT GODDAMN UMPIRE. Uggggggh so winnable.

But yeah, props to the Astros (cries)

So we get a Game 5 with Kershaw winning the World series for us, I ain't even mad, let them have a win, but Just. One.

Ball hitting the umpire didn’t affect anything, though, right?

The other heartbreak was Joc not scoring Bellinger’s gift reached-on-error from third. He makes contact and sac flies, it’s 4-1, and we win in nine innings

The replay of the throw that hit the ump showed it was heading for no man's land. Nothing's certain, but it meant at least a base (which wouldn't have meant anything since Taylor did nothing) or the end of the game if the ball went far enough for Queequay to score.

I think he could have gotten to third, but again it’s moot if Taylor doesn’t deliver a hit (which was not delivered)

Maybe the pitcher pitches differently with a man on third.
