One more thought on Jose Fernandez...When I heard the news Sunday AM I knew as we all did that we lost a young man who was a brilliant pitcher.I heard about the absolute joy and love he approached his life, how this very young teenager was imprisoned after being caught trying to defect, how when they were finally on their way to our great country and his beloved mother fell overboard and at age 15 he jumped in a saved her. The way the Marlins so perfectly honored him before the game and especially Dee Gordon's heartbreaking and so emotionally genuine acknowledgement with his home run and openingly crying through the dugout and into the Marlin's clubhouse. I know now that we lost so much more than a probable HOFer the world lost so much more.
Rest in Peace Jose. May we never forget.
