The Dodgers start this series in first place by 2.5 games, thanks to the Giants' second straight loss to the Cubs on Friday. Joining the team for this homestand are some new old faces, such as Puig, and just plain new faces, like De Leon. This is the soft part of the schedule — time to strike!

Hey let's win tonight, huh?
Giants win, Cubbies now merely 39 games over .500
Need a win tonight! Hope Rich Hills blister is up for the task
12 more home games with Vin (plus last 3 in frisco). I feel shame for admitting my incredible weakness here but i am already crying. I love this man. He has been the voice of my life for 55 years and letting him go is shattering to me.
I think it's time that we sons and daughters show him how very much he has meant to we many generations by telling him goodbye and doing it from our hearts.
I feel like I'm losing a member of my family. I hope Vin and Sandy have a beautiful retirement and please, please, please don't be a stranger at the ballpark.
Thank you Vin you and our Dodgers have spent some of my greatest moments with my family and me.
Beautifully put, Karen. I have to admit I'm still in denial about the end of Vin's tenure and am not collected enough for coherent thoughts about the topic just yet. But I feel everything you feel.

REDDICK HR!
That one got out in a hurry!
5-1 in the ninth and KJ is coming in to finish this game off.
Dodgers win!
Make party!
What's the over/under on Vinny dropping some historical knowledge on Ponce De Leon? Pull up a chair for your fourth grader. It's gonna be a good one.
Good call, DBT!
Puig 3-run HR!
Cubs tie it up in the 9th
Puig was talking to De Leon after he gave up the homer. I wonder if he told him, "Don't worry. I get it back for you!"
These OKC Dodgers ain't too shabby... DeLeon, Puig, Culberson. Bring home the W boys!
Austin Barnes
Booze Status: Lucky Duck Agave Ale. Not bad.
The Padres signed Detlef Schrempf?
Dodgers-Padres tied in the 5th; Giants-Cubs tied in the 11th
@CB: Yes, to play Detlef field
Chutley ties it up! Aroldis Chapman blows away Belt and Pence. And Grandal comes up with a base hit for the lead! 5-4 Blue
Brandon "Greasy Hair" Crawford strikes out to end the threat in the top of the 12th.
Detlef Field. Why I oughtta...
Beer check: Sam Oktoberfest
Down go Span and Panic and Busty Poser. Bottom of the 13th coming up, still 2-2.
Zobrist and Rizzo reach base, nobody out and Heyward coming up.
