I don't know if I'm ready for some NBA basketball, but I suppose I will give it a try. Let this be a quasi-NBA GameThread.

This Lakers season is going to be painful.

And when the Lakers and Dodgers aren't the lead dogs making the most off-season noise in their respective sports, something's not right.

Cool: So I received a new AV receiver for Xmas (thanks, Mom!*), and have been hooking it up the last half hour before my father in law gets here and wants to get right to the Lakers and football and such. I first hooked up the front left, then front right speakers. No center speaker yet. I was left with glorious, glorious commentary free video and just the sounds of the game itself. I can't wait for baseball season when I get tired of Collins and Lyons (e.g., during the pre-game show) and can just unscrew one little black jack and enjoy the rest of the broadcast.
