It's time for us to make our big move!! The Dog Days are starting early this year. We all know how jazzed I am that we got Max Scherzer but I am so excited about Trea Turner. Whenever he's at bat or making a defensive play I feel like anything can happen just like with Mookie last season. And as soon as Mook is healthy again he'll be back to his amazing self.
GAME 1
Trea Turner 2B
Max Muncy 1B
Will Smith C
Corey Seager SS
AJ Pollock LF
Chris Taylor 3B
Cody Bellinger CF
Billy McKinney RF
Max Scherzer RHP
IL Update...Kershaw put on 60 day IL. Mookie a late scratch and Doc says there may be another
stay on IL. Joe Kelly placed on 10 day IL, Doc didn't say why. JT probably out for a few days, should be in lineup Friday. THIS SUCKS!
Phillies the hottest team in the league, should be a tough series.
While the Dodgers are toiling in Philly and New York the Hated Ones will be cruising against the Snakes and the Rox.
Nola is tossing a lot of curve balls at the Boys. He has 4 K's in 1.1 innings.
Coming back from the rain delay MVP hits a solo homerun. 1-0 Dodgers.
Dodgers now up 4-0 in T6. Vesia in to pitch after lengthy rain delay.
Fell asleep during the game. Boys won as did Evil and friars.
GAME 2
Trea Turner 2B
Max Muncy 1B
Will Smith C
Corey Seager SS
Chris Taylor 3B
Cody Bellinger CF
AJ Pollock LF
Matt Beaty RF
David Price LHP
Mookie placed back on 10 day IL for both the right hip and also lower back. He will fly home tonight and see doctors tomorrow.
Possibility of another rain delay tonight. Philly staff is good at getting the field covered quickly Orel says so as long as the rain eventually stops, they'll get the game in.
Tre Turner made the greatest slide at home last night. It's all over the internet and JHair called it a little bit criminal and a little bit Michael Jackson.
Muncy and TT collide going after a foul off first and the ball drops but both guys are alright and Price gets the batter out on the next pitch.
Sky looking extremely nasty in Philly.
The expected RAIN DELAY has arrived, Joe says the word is that it is bad.
GAME BACK ON no score T3.
Phil Bickford in to pitch B5. 3-2 Dodgers
Dodgers lead 4-2 on single by MVP to bring in TT. Dodgers on corners, 1 out T7.
Boys go up 5-2 on passed ball. Philly crowd chanting lets go Dodgers. 1 out T7.
AJ Pollock brings in MVP to bring the lead to 6-2.
@Q7...If you see this, I just got a gander at Kevin Quackenbush whom the Dodgers recently signed. I kind of remember him pitching for the Royals about a lifetime ago. Please ask Mrs. Q7 if I am being overly judgmental or if that crazy Civil War beard is as horrible as I think it is.
Belli hits his second homer of the night to bring it to 8-2 LA in T9.
AJ Pollock gets his third hit of the game with Tio Albert coming up.
Tio hits it off of the top of the left field wall for a long single. Boys at corners with 2 out.
McKinney ends ninth with a ground out. Going to B9 with KJ coming in to shut it down.
I was wrong. KJ was up but Uceta comes in to pitch B9.
The kid shuts 'em down. Dodgers win, friars lose, EvilDoers still midgame.
Giants win so we are STILL four games back. :(
GAME 3
Trea Turner 2B
Max Muncy 3B
Albert Pujols 1B
AJ Pollock LF
Corey Seager SS
Chris Taylor CF
Cody Bellinger RF
Austin Barnes C
Mitch White RHP
GOOD MORNING SoSG NATION!! A morning game which means time for Breakfast Burritos, right Dusty? Saxy is right...We are still 4 games back but we can take some heart because the friars are now 8 games back. It was mentioned last night that if the Boys were in the Eastern Division, where the Phillies are in first, the Dodgers would be in first by 9 games. Damn giants.
Excessive heat warning in Philly today with high humidity. All of the sudden I don't feel so bitchy about our heat wave.
Cole Hamels not expected to pitch until September. JT should be in the lineup this weekend.
Doc says the plan is to keep White as hydrated as possible and have him go as long as he can. I remember back in the day when there was turf in St. Louis and on really hot days Vin would say the infield would get up to 120 degrees and pitchers would lose 10-15 pounds.
Mitch White gives up a solo homer to Bryce Harper in the first. 1-0 Phils.
Through 4 -- 103 degrees in Philly. Phils up 2-0. Mitch White struggled some in fourth but has been nails through 3. Starting to look a little fatigued in the heat.
Trea Turner comes up repping the go ahead run with 1 out T5.
TT gets a RBI ground out to score Barnes. 2-1 Phillies.
Turner was called out at first on that grounder but Doc challenged and replays show first baseman clearly pulling his foot off the bag but New York called him out. Really bad call.
Vesia coming in to pick up for White in fifth. 2-1 Phillies.
KJ in to pitch bottom of the eighth, 2-1 Phillies.
Kenley sits 'em down in order. Time to harness the famous SoSG juju, LA going to the ninth down by 1.
Home Ump walks Corey on obvious strike 3 pitch. MVP repping tying run with 2 out in ninth.
Belli up AND HE TOO IS WALKED ON A STRIKE 3 PITCH. Girardi is tossed for expressing his displeasure. Fresh Prince up. 2 on 2 out.......
Fresh Prince hit by pitch. Bases loaded, Billy McKinney up......
NO SWEEP. McKinney pops up. Final score 2-1.
