Fri 8.27 7p: TBD vs. Freeland Sat 8.28 6p: Price vs. Jn Gray Sun 8.29 1p: TBD vs. Senzatela
The good news: the Dodgers, who can only name one starting pitcher for this three-game series, are going up against three Rockies starters who each have losing records and ERAs over 4.00. The bad news: we tend to under-perform against losing teams (though against the Rockies this year, we are 10-3). Meanwhile we still sit 2.5 games behind of the Giants, who are in Atlanta (we went 1-2 when we traveled to the Braves). But if our sweep against the Padres couldn't make us up any ground in the race, do we expect this weekend to be any different?

Brustar Graterol RHP

Dodgers send Matt Beaty and Gavin Lux to OKC. Rosters expand to 28 next week. Ned and JHair say the it is going to be a tough decision to decide who comes up then saying most teams will bring up a pitcher and third catcher.
Hated Ones up 4-2 over Bravos in fourth inning.
Hey there, sports fans!
Dinner isn't until 7.45p so I can comment for a while. Hope everyone had a great week.
Shoot. Blackmon immediately takes Bazooka deep. 2-0 COL, only one out in the first.
That's not a good start, Brusdar.
And Colorado is 15-47 on the road. But this is a great start for them and their pseudo-sleeveless jerseys.
Tim Neverett talking about how Graterol is pounding the zone. That may be the problem here.
Apparently the flags are at half-mast for the losses in Afghanistan. So sad for our troops in Kabul.
Whoops, dinner is on now. Gotta run.
LA down 0-2, two out in the top of the first.
Hey I’m back. And it’s tied! And the Giants lost! Holy smokes.
Will Smith and Trea Turner solo shots in the bottom of the third!
Now mid-4, 2-2 tie
Andre Jackson gave up a hit in that top of the fourth, but no damage. Looks like he also gave up a single in the second, also to no run damage.
🐄🔑 has made contact but no hits since his return, I think
Mookie Ks. 0-for-2.
Here’s Albert
Andre Jackson in a bit of trouble. Two on, one out, tie game.
We are In the top of the fifth btw
Jackson is laboring. 2-2 count. He’s at 58 innings and looks gassed
Jackson gets an infield fly for the second out. Here’s Blackmon.
Blackmon hitting over .300 against the Dodgers
Jackson gets a 3-1 grounder to Pujols for the third out!
Way to go André
Orel says the Dodgers are 10-0 when Trea Turner scores a run. He’s up with a 2-2 count and Will Smoth on first, two out, B5
Btw up above, the 3-1 grounder referred to the play not the count.
Trea Ks on a slider. Still 2-2 through 5
Not good. Lead off HR for Colorado to start the sixth. 3-2 COL
I blame Tim Neverett
Turner flies to deep center. One out, B6
Top eight, one out. Dodgers down 3-2.
Two out. Doc does a double switch, Belli for Taylor and Vesia for Greene.
Oh shit. I went away with a lead off single in the eighth, and now it’s top 9 and we are down 4-2. Dammit.
What a surprise, Cody Ks in his only AB
Estevez in to close the game for the Rockies, who are up 4-2 in the ninth.
🐄🔑 up to lead off. Muncy on deck, to bat for Pujols.
Betts with his first hit off the IL! And we need it.
Very wild pitch advances 🐄🔑 to second
Two out.
Pollock Ks to end the game.
Missed opportunity there, Dodgers. Not good
GAME 2
Trea Turner SS
Max Muncy 1B
Mookie Betts 2B
Justin Turner 3B
Will Smith C
Cody Bellinger CF
Chris Taylor LF
Will Smith C
Corey Knebel RHP
I am hoping this game lives up to it's "baseball can be a great diversion" reputation. I have been watching coverage of our 11 male and 2 female troops that had their lives ripped from them on Thursday. One that really got to me was a young woman marine holding a tiny Afghan baby and posted it in social media with the caption "I love my job".
In top of the eighth Satan's team is leading Hotlanta 3-0.
CT3 ties the game at 2 each. B4.
The Good Guys win but the Bad Guys do too. Dodgers 2.5 back.
GAME 3
Trea Turner 2B
Max Muncy 1B
AJ Pollock LF
Corey Seager SS
Chris Taylor 3B
Cody Bellinger CF
Billy McKinney RF
Austin Barnes C
Mitch White RHP
Braves 3 Hated Ones 0 in sixth.
And all eyes turn to Atlanta and wait....
Today Jennifer and I watched as our 13 young warriors came home to their families and their country. I just don't know how a parent survives something like this. Please take a reflective moment to give thanks for their ultimate sacrifice and for their families who must be going through hell.
Bravos up 5-0 on the Evil Ones.
Mitch White opens the game with a K. Nine more and it's free JJ's for everyone.
CJ Cron hits a 3 run dinger. T1.
Rox have loaded the bases with nobody out in fourth. 3-0 Rock Show.
Graterol comes in to restore order at the Ravine, stranding three Rox and holding the score at 3-0.
THANK YOU JOE DAVIS!! The Boys have been no hit through four and as soon as Joe pointed it out and began talking about it Seager broke the string with a single to start the fifth.
My boy Joe Kelly coming in with one on and two out hoping to hold them at 3 runs. Mookie comes into right field.
I DON'T CARE IF BELLI EVER GETS ANOTHER HIT. THAT KID JUST EARNED HIS PAYCHECK WITH THE INCREDIBLE CATCH IN CENTER FIELD.
WOW!!!!
And actually I do care if he ever hits again.
We are dropping a turd here, even with the knowledge that the Giants lost. Sigh
JUSTIN TURNER comes in to pitch the top of the ninth and sits the Ros down 1-2-3.
Rox^^^
Dodgers down by five. If they somehow come back to win, JT is the winning pitcher.
Well, one more time Our Boys fail to execute and therefore miss the chance to gain ground on the Hated Ones.
Also, a little levity to get us through this crappy loss....When JT walked off the mound in the top of the ninth, his teammates from the dugout were trying to get the home ump to check his cap and his glove for foreign substances.
Maybe you had to be there :)
