Utley 2B
Puig RF
Hill P
Hill solid thru 2
Chutley solo HR!
Corey RBI makes it 2-0 Dodgers!
Hill cruising thru 3
Cody! 3-0!
Hill thru 5, 3-1 Dodgers
Hey what just happened there. It went from Puig: in play, out to Puig: in play, run(s)
Oh, sac fly? That was it?!
Bellinger guns one down at home! Nice arm!
I especially liked Yaz's tag to the face for the out.
WOW Bellinger just saved Romo's bacon with a great throw to the plate!
Why was Grandal holding his hand out after the tag? Like he was calling for time?
Baez and Romo with a scoreless inning each. 4-1 Dodgers going to the 8th.
Was wondering that too Orel.
Forsythe!!
We swept the Cubs. We're beating the Cards. What universe is this?
Holy cow. 5-1, and this team continues to have an incredible month of May.
GOtta say, Joe Davis is pretty good onthe highlights from today's game. "A bellinger bullet...guns down de Jong!"
Meanwhile, AGon GIdP
Dammit AGon
but he advanced the runner
Go Mariners, up 5-2 on COL in the fifth
Up by 4 in the 9th. Will Kenley get in some work today?
Morrow warming in the pen so I guess not.
Puig with a 2 out double down the line.
Puig is stranded by a long flyout to right.
Kinda odd to see Morrow wearing number 17. He's retired the first two batters.
WIN
5 straight!
Morrow with a K on a 98mph high fastball. Great debut. We win!
Dodgers win! Switching to the Mariners game.
Who wore #17 before?
Wow. Astros put up 11 runs in the eighth to grab the lead back from the Twins.
Mariners win a nail-biter!
PIrates and snakes tied at 3 b9
Dodgers win, Rockies lose, gnats find new ways to embarrass themselves. A happy Memorial Day, indeed!
And the diamondbacks lose on a McCutchen walk off HR in B9. Awesome.
Was @ SF had a fight. Harper looked like he got in some but took a punch as well.
Angels lose Trout, ouch
Very interesting watching that brawl in WAS@SF. Oyster Pubes doesn't even move when Harper begins charging. He just stands there.
Seeing Smardzlajaja and Morse collide like a pair of dopes is one of my favorite things ever.
GAME 2
Forsythe 3B
Bellinger LF
Grandal C
Gonzalez 1B
Taylor CF
Utley 2B
Hernandez SS
Puig RF
Maeda P
Dodgers down 3-0 before recording an out
And they waste a leadoff triple by Utley.
(four innings later) WAIT WE'RE WINNING???
The game is on ESPN tonight (I have Spectrum so it doesn't really matter) but my cable is out. This sucks.
Holy cow we are escaping jams. Got out of the eighth with a GIDP. 7-4 LA through eight.
A-Gon with a leadoff single to start T9
Taylor with a single. First and second, none out.
Spectrum Sportsnet is talking about Oyster Pubes' lack of movement last night when Strickland was getting charged by Harper.
Utley single, then Kike sacrifices him home.
Men at corners, one out. 8-4 LA
@Cliff 1:57AM: Totally agree with you on Samaragoibaewf and Morse colliding, it's hilarious. Someone make a GIF of that, please
Aha, here it is https://twitter.com/NickBromberg/status/869318991818444801
Or, click here
RBI double from PH Austin Barnes, 9-4 LA. Men on second and third for Logan, two out (Puig Kd back there)
Orel and Joe speculating that Logan Forsythe, currently at bat, will win "lexus player of the game" only if he hits a HR
He walks. Oh well.
Bases juiced with two out and 0-for-5 Bellinger at the plate.
Cody Ks. Oh well.
9-4 going to B9
Jansen in, for a non-save situation
When did Kona Brewing Company start showing tv ads?
3-pitch K to Martinez, then one-pitch groundout for out #2
WE WIN!
Dodgers in FIRST PLACE in the NL WEST
covfefe
GAME COVF3F3
Forsythe 3B
Seager SS
Grandal C
González 1B
Utley 2B
Bellinger LF
Taylor CF
Hernández RF
Ryu P
0-0 through the first. Logan Forsythe walked in the first, and then Seager singled him to second, but Yaz Kd and Adrian GIDPd. Cardinals were three up, three down.
Jack in the Box Crave Van commercial: not bad.
Not sure if I'd eat that, but still.
Meanwhile Utley almost doubles but Biscotti tracked it down. Where's my espresso? Or Covfefe?
Jonathan Broxton is available...
Cards take a 1-0 lead as Ryu gets walloped on a double to center. Top 2.
Cards up 1-0 in the 2nd
DAMMIT
1-0 mid-3. Is it just me or has Seager cooled of late?
Still 1-0, T5, man on first with one out.
A-Gon, with a one-out sacrifice to deep center, scoring Seager from third. 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth. Man on first, two out.
I was wondering the same about Corey, Sax. He certainly seems to have been overshadowed by Bellinger.
1-1 in T7. Double with two out by Kike brings up Austin Barnes to PH for Ryu.
And Barnes with a called K. 1-1, B7
one-out single, but GIDP ends B7. 1-1 through 7
ok gotta go guys
boooooo
Rockies down 5-0 with three outs to go. So we may stay in first
This commenting thing is much more fun when you can watch the game
So we are still first place in the West. Only five NL teams above .500 which reflects how well Washington is playing (and how poorly Philly is playing).
I am thinking Corey is still banged up in the feets from earlier this season. Not enough for the DL but enough to affect his batting. I bet if he can get a little healthier (no fouls off his feet, not getting spiked at second) he'll catch fire
@Saxy I saw that Deadspin article about how rotten Philly was in May. What's crazier is that they came into LA at the end of April on a 6-game win streak and looked halfway decent. I guess our sweep of them send them spiraling.
GAME 4
Taylor CF
Seager SS
Bellinger LF
González 1B
Utley 2B
Hernández 3B
Barnes C
Puig RF
McCarthy P
We are losing already
2-0 in the fourth, but the Dodgers have runners at the corners with two out.
McCarthy escaped a jab in B3.
make that, escaped a JAM. He wasn't fighting.
Barnes hits one hard up the middle but the Cards' SS grabs it for the force at second. Still 2-0 STL going to B4.
@FB 7:24a: Hey, good to see you again FB. Long time, no talk.
Yeah I saw that Philly article as well. Brutal.
Agree with the Sons: that Michaels furniture commercial is creepy as all get out.
Bellinger with a sweet grab in left for out #1 in the fourth!
Do we have another comeback in us?
Still 2-0 Stl in B6. Man on first, Dayton just entered the game (for Romo). Two out.
Pop out to Utley and we're through 6 innings.
Not really feeling it in these Arco commercials with the hula girl dashboard ornament.
Okay, still 2-0 through 7. Gotta run. Let's hope we pull this out
Leadoff walk to Taylor, and Seager GIDPs. Thanks, Corey.
Seager: BA .319 in April, but .255 in May. He's gotta shake this.
We lose.
At least we keep the belt.
Rockies win. We are no longer in first.
"Olivera is technically still being paid on the six-year, $62.5MM contract he signed with the Dodgers — one of the most ill-fated signings not only in recent memory but in Major League history — and will continue to be paid under that contract through the 2020 season."
I need to throw up
Actually we are in THIRD place now
