Not gonna lie, this one hurts. From Matt Kemp's Instagram:
It is with a lot of emotion that I say goodbye to the city and the fans who have been there since the beginning of my career. You have given me so much. Your faith and support for the last 9 years through good times and bad, homestands and home runs was showcased through the volume of your cheers and the love for your team. I'm thankful to the Dodgers organization for taking a chance on an Oklahoma kid. I believe we control our paths. The paths we take, control our destiny. I'm excited for the future. God Bless

In all my years following sports in LA, this is the first player that I have had a hard time accepting isn't on my team anymore. I doubt it will get easier once the season starts.
*cries*
Fack...I need a new avatar now :(
^QS- Piazza
...who also played for the Padres.
@QS and Neeebs...This was the second coming of the Piazza debacle for me. I'm still in shock and fucking pissed.
The whorehouse has gone silent.
I'll always be in 27's corner. Great player. Classy guy. Friars don't deserve him.
Dad too!!!!
oh yeah him
At least with the Piazza trade we got a big bat back. Sheffield batted over .300 and had at least 34 dingers in each of his three full years here. We'll be lucky if we get 34 HRs from Grandal in three years total.
...but you guys are right. That trade was rough as well.
a 1-year gamble on Anderson should be interesting. I hope the new front office has brought with it a new strategy/focus on keeping guys healthy
And lotsa one-year/final year deals to hopefully make some guys work a little harder
Not to sure about the Anderson deal. Of course I'm still bitter about OTHER recent moves by this front office.
*vomits everywhere*
So...
$10 million to make Dan Haren go away
+
$10 million for Brett Anderson
=
$20 million for fifth starter.
Of course, Dodger money isn't like real money.
it's crazy, right?
It's still better than signing Chris Capuano for $5mil
Goodbye, Beard
another $10mil down the shitter
Hate to see Matt go. I've been waiting since he hit the wall at Coors in 2012 to see him back at full strength, and at last it's on; but alas, I'll have to see him do it all in camouflage instead of Blue.
Matty in camo.
I'm so, so pissed.
I was rooting for the arthritis but alas, there is no Christmas miracle.
Goodbye Matty.
I'll leave the porch light on.
