With the White Sox comfortably positioned as the worst team in the majors all season long (the White Sox start Monday 30 games out of first place in the AL Central), there has been a lot of talk about Garrett Crochet (6-6 in 16 starts with a 3.25 ERA, 124 Ks and a 0.95 WHIP) as being prime trade bait. I'm not here to spin that yarn, but I am thinking that these three games at old Comiskey Park might be the perfect place for Chicago to start Flexen their power with a series win over the Dodgers (who haven't even named starting pitchers as of Monday morning).

@spank: ha! I'm pro-Pages, I just see him striking out too much on the down-and-away pitch (sort of like Matt Kemp). But you're right, he's not the worst one in the lineup by far.

By the way, on rain delay DodgerTalk, David Vassegh was such a jerk to the callers. He was sarcastic and rude when the first two callers inquired about how bad Austin Barnes and Chris Taylor have been, which are totally legitimate points. Don’t understand why Vassegh was so curt, especially to Dodger fans. And for him to say Barnes is a solid defensive catcher, when he can’t throw anyone out and gets called for catchers interference all the time, is just absurd.

@spank: just reading last night’s comments late. Are you seriously hating on Shohei?! If not for him, we are toast without Mookie in the lineup. If he keeps hitting home runs, he can carry that bat as far as he wants on the basepaths.

BTW, I think Ray Grimes has the record for most consecutive games with an RBI (17), from June 27 to July 23 (he took off nine games in the middle of that streak).

Austin Barnes gets the nod, which may make sense as Slappy hasn't been as potent in this series.
That said, Barnes' woeful .511 OPS (49 OPS+, which means he is 51% worse than an average player) makes everyone nauseous except David Vassegh.
