Albrt Pujols returns to St. Louis, but we've got more pressing things to which to attend, after dropping the rubber match to the Giants and dropping back ou tof first place by a game. I'm posting this late (after Monday's win), in which Scherzer dominated but the Giants won as well, so we just kept pace (one back). And we don't have a starting pitcher named for the rest of this series. Hoo boy. I don't know if House of Cards refers to Busch Stadium, or our precarious attempt to summit the NL West.

We are up 2-0 in the first
Ok so we won game 1. So did the Giants. Still one back.
GAME TWO
Trea Turner
Justin Turner
Albert Pujols
Corey Seager
Chris Taylor
Will Smith
Stephen Souza Jr
Cody Bellinger
Corey Knebel
Bellinger is batting .165
Souza Jr is even worse (.160)
Pujols HR! Unbelievable. You can’t write this stuff.
1-0 through 0.5
Well that was quick. Knebel getting hit here, 1-1 and we are not out of the first.
We were down 2-1 to STL through three.
Corey Seager leadoff single, then PB to take second with one out. Then Souza double to tie it up, and then Cody RBI groundout to re-take the lead.
3-2 LA, through 3.5.
3-2 LA through four frames.
Giants score 3 in the first on Colorado. Ugh.
JT HR in the fifth. 4-2 LA
5-2 LA through six frames.
SF up 5-0 in COL
5-2 LA through 8.
JT with another bomb in the ninth! 7-2 LA
Final, 7-2 LA.
Looks like SF is romping, so we won't make up any ground.
And of course, Colorado rolled over and played dead in letting the Giants sweep, even at Coors Field. Thanks, Rockies.
GAME THREE
We're already down 3-1, through 2.
Trea Turner 2B
Max Muncy 3B
Mookie Betts RF
Corey Seager SS
Will Smith C
Chris Taylor LF
Albert Pujols 1B
Cody Bellinger CF
Mitch White P
Cody swings at the first pitch, for a fly out to end the top of the second. Great.
Three Ks for Mitch White to end the third.
St Louis still up 3-1 through 3.
Betts Seager Smith to start the fourth.
Wainwright is making mincemeat of us. four innings, 52 pitches, 3 hits and only 1 ER (2 Ks, 0 BB)
Dodgers go 1-2-3 in the fifth. Bellinger flies out, he's got no power.
4-1 StL through 4.5
Whelp, it was 4-2 and I thought we were in striking distance (even though we rolled over in the eighth). But now it's 5-2, none out in the bottom of the eighth, and I'm less hopeful.
Four hits for us through eight innings. Pathetic.
We rally for two in the ninth, but lose 5-4.
Now two games back.
We're done.
Cayman tomorrow 😬
(that comment should have read "Catman")
It was late.

5 Cody Bellinger CF

My god, Cody in the five-hole. We're basically raising the white flag now.
I do like the all-infield top four, though.
We are down 2-1 late
Final.
We are now 2.5 GB ahead and fading fast. Wild card here we come
